Say you have a planet aspecting an angle. Could that be similar to that planet aspecting the planet that rules the sign on the angle? For example, I have Venus in Pisces squaring my Sag MC. Even though I already have Venus conjunct my Jupiter in Pisces, I wonder if the square to my Sag MC could also be like Venus square Jupiter in some ways.

Any thoughts?

It could accentuate the conjunction between the greater and lesser benefic even more, emphasizing the qualities of Venus/Jupiter and Sagittarius and Pisces. It could even mean you feel conflicted about expressing these energies at times and struggle to fuse what is represented by the two signs. You go more with Pisces than Sagittarius because of your ascendant. It wins out.
