So I've been thinking about posting this thread for the longest, But I've always thought it was stupid. But now, I feel this would actually be a cool game to play.

Here's how to play:

1. Make up aspects that you would want your ideal best friend or current best friend to have have to yours, and explain WHY if you want.

2. Name a few placements you would want your ideal best friend or you would wish that your current best friend had, and explain WHY, if you want.

Anyways.. I'll start the game off:

If I could make a best friend I would want him/her to have the following aspects to my chart:

Venus Trine my Mercury

Mercury Trine My Mercury - so we understand each other

Moon conjunct my moon - I feel comfortable with people who have their moon conjunct mines.

Sun trine or sextile my Sun

Venus trine or Sextile my Venus - I've noticed that I have a hard time socializing with people who have had hard Venus aspects to mines. I socialize well with people who have good ones.

Here are some placements I would want him or her to have:

Moon in Libra - friendly
Moon in Scorpio - so intense, I love them.
Moon in Gemini - current best friend has this, but at times he can be too busy or has other things going on which would stop him for even caring about my problems.

Mercury in Aquarius - current best friend has this, they always give their opinion.

Mercury in Sagittarius - I have A1A conversations with people with this placement!

Mercury in Gemini - they talk way too much! But at least what they talk about is important and makes sense.

Venus in Scorpio
Venus in Virgo
Venus in Capricorn

That's all for me!

It's your turn you guys, what are your astrological ingredients of your ideal best friend?

capricorn asc ♑
libra sun ♎
libra moon ♎
9th house Stellium in Libra

Best friend aspects are almost always centred around Jupiter and Venus! Though I do notice sometimes the Sun is aspected and sometimes the Moon, but Jupiter and Venus above all!

What do you mean?, like Jupiter Trine Venus or do you mean like Jupiter making positive aspects to someone's Sun or Mercury. Or someone's Venus making positive aspects to their Sun?

Any kind of aspects. When Jupiter and Venus make aspects in synastry, it usually allows for a very good friendship!

For example, my best friend has her Jupiter and Venus conjunct my Sun/NN/IC stellium!

Personally I prefer there to be some squares. Too many trines or sextiles and it just gets so boring after a while...

I agree with the Jupiter part most def! My best friend's Jupiter trines my Mercury EXACT. His Venus trines my Sun. I also agree when you say too many trines makes the relationship boring.

Like, me and my best friend have a LONG list of trines Sun-Sun, Moon-Moon, Mercury-Mercury and I can just keep going.

He has a Stellium in Aquarius (Sun, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter)

I have a Stellium in Libra (Sun, Moon, Chiron and, my Mercury & NN in Libra seem too wide to be apart of the Stellium I guess)

Sun in 1st House: I love, love, love this aspect. All of my Scorpio Rising friends treat me like royalty, so. Everything I say is placed on a pedestal. | "Generally, this overlay generates approval between the two--more specifically, your approval and affection for your partner is welcomed by your partner, offering a pleasant feeling of being able to be open and free in your presence."

Sun in 7th House: I think this is one of the cutest aspects, ever. Like, "This overlay is a magnetic one. This is one of the more powerful overlays in synastry, resulting in a very natural union between two people. Your partner views you as his or her ideal partner."

Moon in 9th House: I like being bliss, so.

I guess Venus and or Mars in the 1st House wouldn't hurt either, so, yeah. I mean, because such exists, Alyssa Sharpe is like a goddess to me. Hahaha!

I'd like to have a friend who has this placement.

Rising: Sagittarius
Sun: Libra
Moon: Aquarius

Ohh, I’ve thought about this before. These are basically what I would browse for if there was an aspects shopping mall.

Synastry aspects:

Sun/Mercury trine or sextile – Good Mercury connections are vital, especially for me. I’ve found that Mercury in aspect to feminine planets isn’t very satisfying even if the aspects are flowing. Mercury is too emotionless and rational for the feminine planets so an aspect between Mercury and the Sun would be a good option. I don’t have any whims about who is Sun or who is Mercury.
Mars/Mercury trine or sextile – Same reasons as above. I prefer to be the Mars person in this case.
Venus conjunct Jupiter – Creates and abundance of fun and adoration. I prefer to be Venus person but I wouldn’t complain if it were the other way around. If I were Venus then the other person’s Jupiter would form multiple conjunctions to my other placements.
Moon trine Mars – Only if I am Mars. Since my own Mars is very misplaced, a trine to it by the other’s Moon would be very soothing and also energizing in a healthy way.
Saturn aspects – Preferably softer ones. They would serve as a grounding foundation for the friendship. Also it creates loyalty and reliance.

Natal placements:

Mercury/Uranus square – People with this aspect tend to think outside the box and have very progressive opinions about life – something I value very much. They tend to be pushy with their opinions but that would guarantee stimulating debates.
Sun/Neptune – Again I would prefer the square since it’s most dynamic but other aspects work as well. People with Sun/Neptune are usually very dreamy, creative and gentle people.
Sun in Virgo – Their Sun would fall in my 5th House which is a very fun and exciting placement especially when Mercury is well-placed. Also it would form a sextile to my Scorpio stellium.
Cancer Ascendant – I like their warmth and also my Scorpio stellium would fall into their 5th House
Venus/Saturn – This creates a person who is serious about love and relationships. I can’t stand people who are frivolous in that area.

I am already blessed with some really good best friends who have sun and mars compatibility common with me.

But If I could choose to make a new friend right now it would have to be someone who I could share my moon feelings with. So, basically anyone with some prominant Cancer/Moon.

I've already found a few things I love in friends. This happened most of the time:

- Trines to each other's Ascendant. You have something that stands out to them, and the other way around.
- Trines to each other's NN -- they really do help you get in touch with your goals and you get a lot of genuine, mutual support along the way. This is my personal favourite <3 My NN is completely afflicted, so I prefer a smooth aspect rather than a conjunction that's just going to set them off again. (Like Meyray said in her post!)
- Sun/Moon, Moon/Venus or Sun/Venus conjunctions. Doesn't just work romantically, it's very nice to have in friends, too.
- Aspects/placements that are similar to mine -- like I have a Moon-Neptune conjunction and I love Pisces Moons or other Moon/Neptune people. Naturally drawn to them.
- My sun in their first house, like mentioned. Leo Risings do bring out the Leo in me.
- Planets in my second house. I feel stronger, more confident, like a valuable person who has lots to offer (and it's very much appreciated). Even stronger when they fall on my 2nd house Pluto.
- MC-IC overlays. Like you bring each other's public and private life together. You can pretty much be chill together but also talk about serious problems.
- And I personally like people with 12th house planets. Like with the similar aspects, it helps when someone knows that kind of energy.
- Trines to my Venus. What can I say, it's my chart ruler and trines from Taurus also aspect my 8th house one. Very personal and someone I can completely confide in. Capricorn is great, too, falling into my 4th. I do feel at home with them.
- 7th and 11th house planets. If someone puts a planet in my 7th that trines my 11th Sun, I'm so so so happy!
- Saturn for the long-term.
- Neptune can be amazing and give something very sweet and compassionate, but it works best when both are very Neptunian.
- Good Mercury aspects for communication.
- My chart is a tough one, so I've noticed I'm naturally drawn to people who have this, too. I feel more on their level with them, like they understand the struggles you're going through.

This is really specific for me, but I've found that it fits. I think that even with the worst chart, you can still find a few great friends, but it really depends on the aspects. Pretty much like with relationships.
