Hi! I have a lot of saturn squares in my chart. Even though the orbs are wide, ranging from 10-14 degrees, I can DEFINITELY feel it affecting my self confidence big time. I have saturn square sun, mercury, venus mars and jupiter. I am very self conscious about the way i look, speak or act. I just feel like if i didn't have all those saturn squares then life would be so much better. Other than saturn i have a lot of very good aspects especially from jupiter and venus, but saturn is holding me back from expressing them. Unfortunately, only people who get close enough to me are able to see my fun loving side. Is there a possibility that i can somehow smooth out those squares and improve my self confidence? or am i stuck with the effect of those squares for ever?

Here is my chart if you want to see: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=zogqva&s=5#.Uk4z9uDsyTM

Yeah that's pretty broad, unless you go for massive orbs like horary does. In modern astrology or if I were to look at your chart, I'd say you don't have any aspects with Saturn.

Is Saturn actually unaspected if you take my methodology?

Saturn forms a 4 degree square with jupiter, this is the tightest saturn aspect i have. But i have sun, mercury, mars and jupiter in sagittarius, so its important. I also have saturn in the fifth house.

I know what you talk about! I have a wild orb with saturn square my sun (8°) and rising (9°) and I can feel it A LOT. I also have a opposition between sun and moon (9°) and rising and sun (17° degree) and I can feel it too. I think nobody would like to lie about it, so, if you feel it, it's real, regardless of what the books say about "wild orbs".

Traditionally sun and moon can pick up 10 degrees orbs but after that two planets are squaring by signs not degrees.
So the influence is less.

Saturn 7 Virgo.

Asc 17 Virgo
Dsc 17 Pisces
MC 18 Gemini
IC 18 Sagittarius

I read this as Saturn crucified on my mutable cross.

For me Neptune & Sun are also nailed here.

Venus square Saturn here (2 degrees). Probably one of the most difficult aspects in my chart, gets into the way in my personal relationships

Sorry, it must be something else in your chart causing it. Or transits!

A 14 degree orb is most likely not valid.

But all in all, yes, it's possible to overcome Saturn squares - they're not all bad. I have Saturn square Sun exact, Saturn square Venus 5 degrees, Saturn square Mercury 7 degrees (and i'm not even counting it normally!) - and Saturn is also in my 5th house. Yes, i've been struggling with my self-worth in teen years, despite the fact that there was nothing objective why i should criticize myself and feel bad. I'm a completely different person now, since i've been able to tap into my lucky aspects like Venus&Mercury trine Mars exact, sextile Moon and Jupiter, etc.

And i know people who are achieved much in life, being cheery and fun, yet they also had struggles that made them only stronger. Saturn square Sun aspect makes you fight for what you desire. It doesn't offer you an easy life, but puts obstacles in your way. But if you do continue to push and go forward, then you are going to be rewarded - 2 times Olympic Champion of BMX has this. And he's handsome like hell, btw as well.

P.S. Actually i think my Venus square Saturn just makes me fall for older guys, not much older, though. Just like 6-9 years, but still.

I won't argue about the orbs, but will try to answer the question. I also have Saturn squares to moon, venus, mercury and neptune.

No, you can't "overcome" saturn squares. There will always be times when you will feel rejected, limited, criticized, inadequete in the area of life indicated by the planet that squares saturn. You will subconciously attract circumstances and people into your life that ensure that this will happen till the day you die. This is a recipe for bitterness, self-pity, crippling self-consiousness, feelings of chronic unworthiness and guilt, defensiveness and rage agains the unfairness of life, is it not???

Hmm. Maybe. That's why so many people with Saturn squares are twisted up inside. But .. there is another way when you remember that "you" are not your experiences, your memories, your thoughts or your instinctive emotional reactions to outside influences. "You' are in fact the being that chooses how to respond to these. From this perspective "you" can acknowledge the truth and reality of your Saturn pain, but at the same time not have a knee jerk reaction to it. Instead ask yourself what is the real reason for your pain? Is it because you believe that you *are* what external circumstances / people are judging you to be? i.e. unworthy, guilty, inadequate? If this is the case, try to understand why they need/want/cause you to feel that way. What is their payoff for causing your pain? The answers to this question can be quite illuminating. At the same time, try to remember that you - like them - are not perfect in your human form, but the real you (your higher self) resides in a place of gentle acceptance and wholeness and therefore is capable of guiding you towards responding to your saturn experiences with kindness, understanding and compassion towards yourself and others.

Hope this response is not too deep and serious for your liking.

Wow if you can use that wide orb that makes me have moon square saturn (8 degrees) and mars square saturn (10 degrees)

and I have saturn square jupiter (2 degrees) and saturn opposition jupiter direct too!

But I can not feel the moon square saturn or mars square saturn, I never thought about them as real aspects because the orb was so wide...with such a wide orb it makes me have dozens of other aspects too so normally you wouldn't count them as forming your personality that much?

Yeah, you still would feel it because the signs are conflicting but I would say an aspect with tighter orbs would be much stronger.

I have Sun opposed Saturn and the limitations are great but I think you might be able to handle them better over time with progressions.

Also consider the following, if you have that afflicted planet aspecting a benefic it sorta balances out.
I've seen people with moon square saturn who have stable relationships with their mother because Moon was in trine with Jupiter.
In away canceling each other out, saturn takes away from that overwhelming optimism yet jupiter brings that warmth and confidence.

Most people have a mix of difficult and positive aspects...

I have Sun square Saturn (2º orb) and MC square Saturn (6º orb).

I do have moments of self-consciousness, and sometimes I'll stop myself doing something for fear of rejection or abandonment. Luckily my Moon either cancels out a lot of things or just helps me overcome them. I have Sun trine Jupiter in a wide orb (7º) but my Sun trines my Moon tightly (2º). Moon also trines Jupiter widely (6º), but considering that I have an Aqua Moon, I'm less predisposed to care what other people think of me and to be more emotionally detached.

I still fret about how I present myself to others and what they'll think of me, or even if they'll stay for the long run (I've a lot of come-and-go friends). That is my gut reaction. But I also have other things going on in my chart, so I'm able to work around it.

I don't think the Saturn squares can define you... They'll shape you up and teach you the lessons one must learn, but I think that with a bit of psychological work, you can at least live with them. I shoud know that, for I'm trying to!

I have a fixed t-square:

0 Leo Saturn
6 Scorpio Uranus
5 Aquarius Mercury

I think Saturn stabilizes what would otherwise be a WILD Mercury-Uranus combo. Before just blurting out whatever crazy stuff comes to mind, Saturn says, "Wait. Analyze. Think it over."

That's helpful.

What's not helpful is Saturn's long reach, so that after I say something, I usually have doubts about whether or not it was the "right" thing to say. It's annoying.
