Well I know different types of stones/crystals are represented by certain astrological energies.

A few examples:

There several types of divination techniques you can use with the aid of crystals.

To name a few:
Crystal Ball Gazing
Color Divination

Right, I forgot about pendulums. But they don't have to be made of gemstones I haven't heard about color divination.
