Alright guys, topic of the day for me is this aspect. I have seen article after article heralding this as the great soul mate aspect. I don't think that even begins to make sense...it seems that this aspect would only beget obsession. What are you perspectives on this aspect? IP: Logged |

Obsession isn't love though. I mean I feel like it's not real love if it's coming from an obsessive standpoint. Far be it from me to define what love is though...IP: Logged |

Well yes and no. I think a person could be absolutely in love with another person and obsessed with loving them...not sure if that makes much sense. IP: Logged |

I am going into a pluto/venus on my venus/ascendant year in my SR of 2014 (7thoffeb). Pluto is my dispositor and has so far crossed mars, saturn, MC, Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter. I love pluto. Even though she can make life pretty hectic and even before I knew about astrology I always said, transformation is my middle name, now I know why I think pluto/venus is about so much more than obsession alone! For me it's also about, transformative love, destined love, true love selflove and all of these possibilities should be taken into consideration. Also depending on the house, the house ruler, the aspects to other planets, one's own make up (what planets have affected you most?) Maybe one person can experience obsession, the other some other plutonic dimension. It's not all bad too! IP: Logged |

I most of all associate the conjunction with - strong commitment to each other..."Together through thick and thin" - kind of bond. This is regardless of whether it is a friendship or romantic - but the aspect has to be close (1 deg orb at the most). This does not apply to the square and the opposition - those aspects can be toxic and emotionally damaging.. but it depends on the people involved, their natal charts and synastry! The trine and sextile are emotionally intense but that kind of unwavering commitment is not there. IP: Logged |

Quindecile is an obsession aspect. Imagine a Venus/pluto quindecile.Try applying it in synastry with an exact orb. I don't think conjunctions with generational planets are soul mate aspects. lol So only venus in scorpios have soul mates? That's logical. If anything I think the moon in synastry is heavily involved with soul mate feelings. The moon is the most personal planet in astrology.

Obsession? It's more like a square or neat semi-square, than conjunction.IP: Logged |

I think that it depends, Pluto is slow moving so the Venus person can share Venus/Pluto with people around the same age... We have to check how strong Pluto influence is in the Pluto person, and then check for other synastry aspects to determine the nature of the relationship. It can vary from simply inspiration to obsession, from sensitivity and healing to destructive tendencies. It can be one of the aspects shared by soulmates, or simply between an idol and an inspired fan... But if it's between soulmates, usually more epic aspects can be found.IP: Logged |

obsession for sure; some other synastry aspects in addition to this conjunction could make the couple soul mates, but not this alone. although in the midst of all the sexual obsession you probably feel like soulmates :-) imo it's the most potent synastry aspect a couple can haveIP: Logged |

I disagree with the 1 degree orb. Why suddenly do you reduce the orb for this particular aspect? Who came up with the idea that certain aspects must be reduced? I reject the notion that Pluto contacts must be super tight in order to have power. Pluto is a powerful planet. A conjunction is anywhere from 5-8 degrees. 10 degrees if you want to see ALL the energies(weak and strong) present in a relationship. IP: Logged |

I think the implications are that certain placements ensure easier access to romantic mates. For example...Venus Air signs may find they have more luck with Pluto in Libra generation. Water Venus' may find the Pluto in Scorpio generation especially intense. It's time for us to start seeing the implications that we stumble upon in astrology. Perhaps everything isn't always fair. Perhaps some souls enter this plane and have it a little easier than others on the romantic front. We think..."it's not fair!" but no my dear, it's ASTROLOGY.
