The eclipses are coming! The eclipses are coming!

Should I say it again? Eclipses mean it is time to get ourselves ready for a wild ride. Time for hidden things to be revealed. Time for situations that have been festering under the surface to come to light, form a giant, juicy, bright red boil that begs to be lanced. The eclipse season before us will be quite powerful for a few reasons. First, Saturn is on the North Node of Fate with Sun, Moon and Mercury ~ this is a fated turning point in all of our lives. Second, Mercury will be retrograde, in Scorpio, for part of it ~ a hard place for him to communicate from. Third, Mercury and Saturn are talking three times ~ the first time, their first conjunction, this week. Very serious things will be discussed. Fourth, many of the planets (Pluto, Uranus, Chiron, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Mars, North and South Nodes) are clustered near the same degrees ~ 9 to 13 ~ which makes them act like a giant cocktail party ~ shouting things across the room at each other. Or maybe a better analogy is a circus ~ in this case a 9 ringed circus.

As a kid, I always hated circuses. You’d be paying attention to one ring and then the crowd would make noise and you realized you missed something going on in another ring. There was just too much to keep track of!

Imagine a Nine Ringed Circus full of wild, crazy, dangerous , scary and amazing circus acts for the next six or seven weeks. Except this circus can cause an amazing amount of personal damage to us.

We can see the circus crazy wildness already in the world around us. The United States Federal Government is shut down. We have elected politicians blackmailing other elected politicians. The government will run out of money next week. About 72% of the parts of the government that ostensibly protect us from terrorists are out of work. Extortion. Fingers are pointing. People are fighting. Arguments. Motorcycle gangs, with undercover cops riding in them, are chasing SUVs and NOT stopping the violence. Deception. Betrayal. Violence erupting in Egypt. The financial markets around the world watching our crazy recklessness and preparing to meltdown when we stop paying our bills. Sinead is having a smack down with Miley and Simon saying they ruined music. And THAT is some of the stuff MAKING the news… SO much more is going on BELOW the surface. Over the next few weeks, THAT stuff will rise up and say “Hello!”

Your job while all this wild and crazy stuff is going on is to keep a clear place where wisdom of the heart comforts you. Avoid bitterness. Perhaps you will shed tears and experience sorrow or be disappointed by what you see during this eclipse narrative. Hold onto your personal story. Appreciate and reaffirm your actual life experiences. Understand what your life experiences have given to you. Those are yours to keep in your heart forever.

Anna Fels wrote in the NYTimes: “As a psychiatrist, I can tell you that it’s often a painstaking process to reconstruct a coherent personal history piece by piece — one that acknowledges the deception while reaffirming the actual life experience. Yet it is work that needs to be done. Moving forward in life is hard or even, at times, impossible, without owning a narrative of one’s past. Isak Dinesen has been quoted as saying “all sorrows can be borne if you put them in a story or tell a story about them.” Perhaps robbing someone of his or her story is the greatest betrayal of all.”

Don’t let anyone rob you of your story this week. And, if you want to CHANGE your understanding of your earlier story, this is a GREAT six weeks to make those changes. Tell the story with yourself as the hero or heroine.

The Week’s Planetary Highlights

We still have the earth Grand Trine with Pluto, the South Node, Ceres and Vesta asking us to make changes in our homes, bodies, diet and environment to support our new direction.

Mercury entered his retrograde shadow degree in Scorpio last week. Mercury will be in Scorpio for 67 days. This week, he meets up with Saturn, on Tuesday, for his first of three conjunctions. Start a new story. Or change the story you tell yourself. The Mercury retrograde journey is between October 21 and November 11, leaving his shadow on November 27. He meets Saturn again on October 29 and November 25.

Venus enters Sagittarius on Monday, October 7 for 30 days. Answering to Jupiter in Cancer, she’s quite the frisky Venus.

Kronos stations to go retrograde on Tuesday at 08°Cancer reversing an important sub-text family story line. Allow yourself to redefine your narrative. Through the lens of history we see things with a new light.

Venus squares Neptune on Thursday so we have clarity around an emotional, financial or desire situation at long last.

Mars in Leo is crabby as all get out this week with numerous aspects arguing with other planets.

Sun squares Jupiter next weekend, promising overdoing on all fronts, especially as we approach the weekend.

Void Moons in the Week Ahead: When the Moon is Void, it is wise to avoid making important decisions as they tend to be unrealistic, and subject to false starts, errors or unexpected hassles. Avoid being concerned with things beyond your spiritual center. It is time for subjective, spiritual and non-materialistic concerns. Kick back, let life flow and center yourself. Connect into your essential oneness with the Universal Forces.

Last week, I realized I forgot to post the phase family of the New Moon opposite Nemesis. The Moon unfolds over a 30 day period and across a longer two and a half year period. The opening quarter takes place on July 5, 2014. The Full Moon is on April 4, 2015. The closing quarter is January 2, 2016. We’ll be riding this New Moon energy into the eclipse season. While the lights were in Libra, which traditionally is a relationship based sign, Venus, ruler of the lights was in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio is considered to be in her detriment ~ she’s Glenn Close in “Fatal Attraction.” Hot and passionate when in the elevator having sex with Michael Douglas but she’ll boil the kid’s bunny if she’s thwarted, abandoned or dismissed. That means people will be totally cool with boiling the bunny. Don’t be the bunny. Hop away quickly!

The Goddess Nemesis will be very active during the eclipse period as she’s traveling with Uranus. Watch for her to balance the hubris in the world. Watch the ongoing craziness in Congress over the budget involving the laying off of Federal employees to stop the health care legislation. Nemesis will be there! Watch for Nemesis to surface in your life if areas need to be balanced or are not in right relationship to what is deserved or earned. Welcome her if she arrives. Shift and adjust your balance.

Saturn reaches the degree of his February station on October 14. Saturn in Scorpio asks us to commit to the karma and work of our life. Saturn says it is Time to form a DEEP and INTIMATE relationship with what we are here to do ~ our purpose on earth. Saturn in Libra for the past few years got us clear that we WANTED to commit to a new chapter or relationship to our life’s purpose in our life. We started to commit last October, when Saturn entered Scorpio. However, when we got to February, we realized we had some psychological block(s) that kept us from going further. We’ve spent the last winter, spring and summer clearing those psychological blocks out of our life. NOW we are being asked to take the plunge into the next major chapter of our life. Don’t be afraid. Go for it. Even as the eclipses are going crazy around your ears and making you think it is all for naught. It is just that crazy world trying to keep you from your appointed rounds. Pretend you are a mailman! Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

The origin of that quote is from Herodotus in “Histories”: It is said that as many days as there are in the whole journey, so many are the men and horses that stand along the road, each horse and man at the interval of a day’s journey; and these are stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed course with all speed.

All speed ahead! Let nothing stay you from the swift completion of your dreams!

Moon’s day, Monday October 7, 2013 finds Moon in Scorpio with a square to Mars as the closing aspect. Watch for manipulations and power plays that don’t actually work out the way you think they should. Mars in Leo refuses, on principle, to act in a manner that is not loyal, correct, righteous, kingly or in keeping with his considered beliefs that he is correct and you are incorrect. No use even trying to argue right now. Mars is not listening. He is righteously roaring and defending his turf. Venus enters Sagittarius so she brings a bit more flexibility to the situation. She’s answering to Jupiter in Cancer so legal methods or healing approaches are starting to be considered by the feminine energies in the room. Mercury’s trine to Chiron invites healing words or conciliatory gestures, even if they are not accepted. Venus’ quintile to Ceres suggests a cup of tea and a cookie can go along way towards healing. Or at least appreciating what is going on.

Mars day, Tuesday October 8, 2013 Moon goes void square to Mars at 00:54:46 am EDT and enter Sagittarius at 08:22:34 am EDT. Moon is void in the wee small hours of early Tuesday morning. Moon in Sagittarius’s closing aspect is a trine to Mars in fire, passionate Leo. Lots of energy and fireworks the next three days. Lots of argument energy today as there are numerous contraparallels. Deep emotions swirl after last night’s turbulent dreams. Mercury’s inconjunct to Uranus suggests you take what people say seriously. Speaking of Nemesis, watch where you are creating your own problem or being your own Nemesis. I received the following email this morning : Anne ~Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life, as the recipient of cruelty combined with loss…… so I feel in my rawness that I can ‘speak my truth.’ You are a very generous and ethical person, by all accounts and appearances….and not necessarily ultra~practical. Would you consider altering your standard line of ‘the remainder of the week will be posted later on Monday’ To ‘posted soon.’? I think if we look back over the years, we would find the number of times the Monday hope of yours was realized was pretty small. Does this make sense toYou? (You of course don’t have to answer). From my perspective, many readers would be appreciative if a more realistic assessment. I think it inadvertently damages your credibility in general. Of course you intend nothing but your ideal vision of what can happen on a Monday~ but from experience it’s not realistic. Thanks for your generous contributions to Our at-times torturous journey. It is completely well intentioned when I post later Monday, but then the reality of life gets in the way. Thanks Irene for saying this to demonstrate Mercury inconjunct Uranus. Look at how you are being your own Nemesis. Make the appropriate adjustments. Kronos stations to go retrograde today, offering us an opportunity to look at the old structures in our life that don’t work for us the way that they used to. Uranus contraparallel Eris suggests you (or someone you know) is going to be mighty annoyed by something and spark out the energy. Use it proactively to clear out situations that you no longer need or want. Eris is GREAT for pointing out where we are not necessarily living up to our own dreams for ourselves or are found wanting. Use her energy to inspire instead of condemning yourself or the other. Mars has a quintile aspect to the Node encouraging you to notice, once again, your dream. The universe is trying to distract you from it this week with all the crazy energy. Focus. Focus. Focus (as best you can). Baby steps if that is all you can do. Pallas contraparallel to Ceres points out the problems with the creative idea…. Doesn’t’ mean it CAN’T be done, just means you have to adjust the plan. Adjust. Adjust. Adjust. Lots of emotions mid-day. Sun’s aspect to Zeus means the day takes off with a WHOOSH…. Mars links to the Nodes of Fate at 3 pm make you want to collapse back into the old. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit any more. You have to go forward. No other choice. Or you can stand. Mercury’s union with Saturn today, the first of three the next few months, means you hear difficult or hard news from an authority or about your work. So changing the words to “Posted Later” is the adjustment I make. Keep your head about you when you hear the difficult words. Remember the words will change (Mercury is going retrograde) but DO TAKE THEM FOR THE TRUTH. Healing opportunities later tonight via the Sun/Chiron aspect. Call someone you love and connect with them. They could use a good chat too. It’s been a hard day on the third rock from the sun….

Mercury’s day, Wednesday October 9, 2013 Moon is in Sagittarius and goes void trine to Mars so today is quite productive if a bit fiery and overly passionate. You may have trouble keeping a lid on your emotions. Dreams have you tossing and turning early in the night and stir deep emotions upon awakening. Lots of emotional processing going on to help you see your patterns and those of the various people in your life. Once we see things, we can work with them. Mercury’s opposition to Hygeia suggests you get news on the healing front. Eclipses are great for bringing on colds ~ they seem to emerge from the deepest recesses of our being. So hop on sniffles right away! Mid-day you find an extra boost of productivity and ideas. Hop on the flow. Jupiter’s sextile to Ceres suggests creativity around nurturing, expansion, food and cooking this evening. When the world is a bit too crazy, it always helps to have a nice cup of hot tea ~ mint perhaps? Tonight take time to self nurture. The rest of the week is simply crazy. No subservience ~ support yourself.

Jupiter’s day, Thursday October 10, 2013 Moon goes void trine to Mars at 06:11:31 am EDT and enters Capricorn at 11:18:15 am EDT. Moon is void Thursday morning. Moon’s closing aspect is an opposition to Jupiter so use it to release things. Cappy Moon is going to speed everything up as she rolls through the cardinal cross today and tomorrow… get ready to push and perhaps be a bit stressed. Pallas sextile to Zeus makes for another restless night of dreams. If they would just stop keeping you up at night! So much to communicate on an integration level. Venus’ square to Neptune bright and early this morning encourages relationship clarity and release. Dreams are strong and clear but perhaps a bit troubling. Think of them as messages from your inner wise guide. Talk to them. Ask them questions. Tell your friends about them to get a second vision. Eclipses are about seeing differently. Moon’s trine to Mars makes the morning accelerate and speed up ~ great for proceeding on already begun projects or exercising as you will have oodles of energy. Mars at the end of Leo has a loud shout out over the next few days, pushing for what he wants and desires ~ what you want or what the other guy wants. Mars in Leo is not so good at listening to what the other guy wants ~ not a “win-win” player ~ more of a “I want what I want” player. So if you don’t want to “lose”, make sure to express your two cents. You might not get it but at least you asked. And if you can align your want with their want, you might get it. Venus is inconjunct to Hades so watch that you are not making a deal with the devil. Venus in Sagittarius can be impulsive. Keep the end in sight so you know where you want to end up when the game is over. Sun’s sesquiquadrate to Neptune suggests the other guy is playing a strategic game where he is willing to bet his house on a roll of the dice. Don’t fall for that trick. The dice are loaded. Focus on your LONG RANGE GOAL even if you are under enormous stress. His bet will not make it ~ the eclipse will take it out. Slow and steady. Gentle baby steps.

Venus’ day, Friday October 11, 2013 Moon goes void in Capricorn opposite Jupiter at 08:05:35 pm EDT. Moon is void Friday night. Today can be a very stressful and difficult day as Moon aspects the cardinal square. Last night was full of tossing and turning dreams ~ AGAIN! You might get a good night’s sleep on Monday. Notice what images your dreams are sending you. They are to help you integrate all that is going on in the wild and crazy world. Moon dances with Pluto and Uranus during the night bringing us changes inside via the dreams dancing around inside of us. You might also find yourself unable to sleep. Lots going on energetically today. Moon and Saturn join forces and work together this morning to make productive strides on projects that need attention. Watch for important messages or connections this morning with women or young people. There is an overdoing energy as Venus and Jupiter feed off each other later mid-day in a crescendo of expansive energy… good or bad ~ something is expanding. You can’t do much to stop it but you can guide it a bit. Ceres is contraparallel Apollon ~ another too much, too much energy ~ kind of a super pushy energy. Moon squares Sun suggesting the masculine and feminine principles are not getting along. The Moon also rules the Public not getting along with whoever the authority is telling them what to do. Rebellious energy. Moon’s opposition to Jupiter pushes the envelope a bit further, separating in a pulse of energy this evening. On some level, this is a final separation. Mercury’s trine to Black Moon Lillith encourages you to NOT do what you don’t want to do. Neptune’s contraparallel to Ceres allows you to grow up. You are not a motherless child any more. You can mother and take care of yourself. Personal responsibility beckons.

Saturn’s day, Saturday October 12, 2013 Moon enters Aquarius at 02:00:56 pm EDT. Moon is void Saturday Morning. Moon has an opposition to Mars offering an opportunity to end or release things. Venus sextiles Juno suggest a connection that is solid and real around relationships. Mars squares Ademetos making plans start to go a bit haywire early this morning. The Void Moon amplifies the energy. Saturn’s opposition to Hygeia indicates health matters need to be taken VERY SERIOUSLY! Go to the Doctor. Do not pass go or collect $100. Go to the DOCTOR! These are mean aspects. Sun squares Jupiter so things can progress quickly and in very fast manner. On a positive note, you can seriously harness a major amount of energy and get a great deal done today. Lots of opportunity for changes and shifts in direction.

Sun’s day, Sunday October 13, 2013 Moon is in Aquarius with a separating closing aspect of an opposition to Mars in Leo… large emotional fights! Huge passions ignite. Creative ideas abound. Mars is right at the last degrees of Leo so he is passionate and not particularly grounded in logic ~ fire emotions. Mars contraparallel Saturn suggests a turbulent and separating energy this morning. Things can shift and change unexpectedly. Mars at the last degrees of Leo can bring sudden and unexpected changes with the heart or matters around hearts. Again to the Doctor if you have anything unusual. Sudden endings and separations are possible. Moon squares Saturn and Mercury today so emotional detachment is possible and often warranted on this kind of energy. You don’t really want to do it anymore. So don’t. You don’t have to do it. Examine where you feel hooked or caught in the energy. Mars wants freedom from ~ freedom from partnerships or relationships that don’t work for him anymore. Expect news of relationships ending. People don’t want to stay in situations that aren’t connecting any more. No subservience. Freedom from. Later we’ll redefine it as Freedom to. Right now focus on the concept of Freedom from. Ceres square to Cupido offers a bit of sadness around the end of a family situation or matter. Tears are quite possible. Vesta’s quintile to Hades invites you to take the freedom energy and release things that are tired, finished or done.
