My friend was telling me how his mother hates his girlfriend and I was thinking my own family is the complete opposite.
I find it strange how parents get really involved in their children's private lives.My parents don't even really care about my relationships...
Sometimes they ask and their like, okay cool.
That's pretty much it and I go on with my life.
I never have this desire for my parents to accept my lovers.
Maybe if I'm getting married and having kids?
even then I wouldn't shed tears over their rejection.. While my friend really wants his mother to like his girlfriend of 4 months lol..
Jeez just ignore your mommy.. So what placements do you think would suggest this?
Need for parental acceptance? He has venus in taurus mars in virgo and moon in leo

My father don't care I don't even think he remember their name (gemini sun dad)My mother is a different story...she always wants the best for me and nothing less, I think it kinda make me think twice and be a bit more nit-picky...I've had dozens of lovers who was never ever gonna meet my mother Shes an aries sun thats why

Ugh. I am SO tempted to go into a tirade on this subject, but I'll refrain. Anyway, I would suggest a mother with Leo Mars and Pluto in 8th, especially if those planets conjunct significant planets or points in her children's charts. Talk about competitive and petty. But that's just my experience, haha. Neptunians can slip away from those people with reasonable ease, and fire placements help us hold our ground. I don't tell my family anything. Ever. My sister doesn't really either - I think it's mostly because we live with a mother who gets all involved and stuff.  IP: Logged |

I'd say strong capricorn or cancer influence. These people can be very loyal and dedicated to their "clans" and may feel that they need approval and acceptance from them. I didn't care that my parents hated my chosen one, but that was mainly because I don't feel attached to them. That's a very good point. I don't care as much. My husband only cares to the degree that we can all hang out and at least be polite or whatever. Sometimes I'm chatty with my mother in-law, depending on her mood. She doesn't use her Gemini moon very effectively, so if she's moody and full of petty gossip I tend to make myself busy elsewhere.

Violets I know what you mean. I agree about cancer and leo placements. My mother in law has leo sun, 1st house cancer moon and cancer ascendant. She’s a warm and caring person but I guess that sun moon combo makes her want to be the most important person in my husband’s life so she often feels “left out” and it causes her to be kinda competitive. But she responses well to lots of gifts and attention lol so it’s good. IP: Logged |

I can't deal with family drama either.My parents and I have an mutual understanding.
I'll be your perfect child if you don't meddle in my affairs and I won't question anything. Easy. Lmfao my mom never had a mother in law.. She lucked out.

it is really weird! Not only with bf/gf parents, but friends parents too lol...Especially because you don't know if the parents are super protective, and will dislike me for being soo secretive..which they might translate as being me being "bad"... And then they'd prob get in between my relationship/friendship.... Parents can get too nosy. Unless you put your foot down and make it clear they need to butt out. Which not many parents are willing to do -__-.
