Saturn seemed like the culprit that kept them together through thick and thin!

You mean Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre , the 1847 novel by Charlotte Bronte?

Actually, there was an extremely good four-part BBC television drama made of this novel in 2006, starring Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens (I think he did a particularly good job here as Mr. Rochester).

I highly recommend this if you like period dramas. There was a 2011 Jane Eyre theatrical movie but it’s not as good as the mini-series. This is mainly because the mini-series shows the full progression of the story, and the full build-up of tension between Jane and Mr. Rochester. In the movie everything seems to happen too fast. The mini-series feels well paced, and you can really see the relationship grow.

Anyway, I think it's possible to find the miniseries on YouTube is you search 'Jane Eyre 2006'. Or you could try this link http://www.primewire.ag/watch-10310-Jane-Eyre

I think watching it would help everybody get in the mood to discuss it astrologically, plus it's good.

Ooh I really liked this one!

Also have seen Ruth Wilson on stage and thought she is a really superb actress.

Me too! Although I got to view it by questionable means, I watched it on YouTube! Stumbled on it by accident and actually really enjoyed it, and watched the whole thing non-stop.

I really think both the leads did such a fine job, it felt like you went on a journey with them.

I would have thought Pluto aspects in addition to Saturn aspects? Yes, most definitely Pluto and maybe Mars there, I think. But maybe Saturn to act as the "glue".

Love those Bronte sisters!

Okay, so I rewatched the mini-series. Sorry never read the book. Here's what I'm thinking in terms of the main character's charts and synastry.

Mr. R comes across and moody, changeable, brooding, a little bit tricky and mischievous (the fake fortune teller, ha ha), adventurous, socially adept, difficult to read, passionate, sometime uptight and guarded, and other times rather flamboyant. He also seems a direct type who doesn’t suffer fools easily.

I picked him for a Gemini with Moon in Scorpio, and maybe Venus/Mars in Aries, and Capricorn rising. To me it seem as if he wanted Jane for quite a while, but instead of telling her he kept trying to trick her into confessing something, or testing her to see what her reaction would be to various different things.

Jane come across as humble, sweet, hardworking, quiet, and modest, but also very honest and direct when she needs to be. She is not a silly or frivolous person. She’s straightforward, no-nonsense, and dutiful. She has a creative, imaginative side as well, with her artistic bent. And is also rather sensitive and caring.

I picked her for a Taurus with Moon in Cancer, Sagittarius rising, Mars in Virgo, and Venus in Aries. I also see a bit of Libra in her too, as she’s patient in a diplomatic kind of way, maybe her ruling planet Jupiter would be in Libra.

In their synastry, I’d say they’d having something like Saturn trine a Venus/Mars conjunction between the two of them. Maybe he’d have Saturn in Leo ruling his Cap Asc trine his Aries Mars conjunct her Aries Venus. She, herself seems like a Saturn/Venus type, so maybe she’d have Saturn in Gemini sextile his Saturn in Leo, and sextile their mutual Venus/Mars conjunction in Aries. He’d have a Leo/Aries Saturn/Mars aspect, and she’d have a Gemini/Aries Saturn/Venus aspect (she definitely seems like a Saturn/Venus type). The Venus/Mars aspect would give passion between them, but the mutual Saturn aspects would add a layer of restraint and control, and also intense devotion, to their interactions.

There’s one scene in the mini-series where Jane says they’re so alike they’re like ‘one’ in mind and heart, even though they’re externally very different… I’d say this feeling could come from her Moon in Cancer trine his Moon in Scorpio, they have unspoken understanding. They also have a friendly banter between them that flows naturally, and I could see them having a Mercury/Mercury soft aspect or conjunction between them. I said previously that I see her as having Jupiter in Libra, and I could also see her Jupiter in Libra trine his Gemini Sun, showing natural good will, and liking between them (Note: the scene where she asks to go on leave to visit her aunt, and he offers her an advance on her wages while teasing her as well, that’s such a Jupiter/Sun type interaction)

Now about the deception on his part, one way I could see this manifesting would be to have her Sun in straightforward Taurus opposite his Moon in secretive Scorpio. She senses he’s holding back feelings, but has no idea as to the true extent of this when it all goes down. I also sense a Neptune/Venus opposition here too, and some hints of Pluto… Maybe his Neptune opposite her Venus, while his Pluto trines/sextiles the opposition. Pluto is like the mediator between Venus and Neptune here… When the secret is exposed it’s disappointing, heartbreaking, and sad for both, but in the end everything works out when they meet again and they have a chance to clear the air between them, and the deep bond is still there.

So yeah, that’s my take from the mini-series at least

LilithPowers1025, have you read the book? If you have I’d like to know your impressions from that. You’d probably know things that I wouldn’t know just from the TV version.

As an adult reading the book lit a fire in my soul. The way Rochester has been so denied in love both externally and internally, and the way he carries his shameful secret almost in a disillusion makes him such a complex and intriguing character especially for his time! his poetic ramblings, his rejection of God and spirituality, his jaded disposition that truly stems from years of self flagellation and shame all melts away in the presence of his EQUAL, Jane, and in turn she becomes empowered through caring for him and finding her place along side someone who is of a different age and class. The book is such an altruistic expression of living with, then finding the courage to face your deepest fears and regrets, all in the name of spiritual equalness, the collective truth that we are all ONE. Brontes uncanny ability to fuse both traditional teachings of God and rejection of archaic roles in society is so beyond its time, even this time and age we are in currently. I recommend everyone read the book.

When reading a book, it is worthwhile to look at the Author's personal perspective on life(in general)

***spoiler alert****

The ending is bittersweet. She marries the Rochester fella. But he is(quite literally physically )not the same man she fell inlove with.

Charlotte Bronte (Author)had Moon/Sat conj on Aqua.Jup on Sco opp Sun in Tau.Neptune opp North node. Pluto sqaure North node.

She didnt believe in "Happy endings" nor share the same optimism as Jane Austen.
