Depends who they're around. They're that way with me sometimes but can't stay that way.

yeah, good point, but why should another person have to work so hard to 'lift' another person up???

I don't mind it even if it takes a long time as long as I can feel progress is being made. It always gets paid back and they'll do whatever it takes.

More stable And calm. I don't mean to hate on my own kind but I can honestly say I have yet to meet one Cancer sun I liked. I probably don't even like myself..

I often get told that I'm gloomy, but I don't think I'm gloomy, just kind of serious compared to majority of people. And I appear often unemotional even though when I'm not.

There must be different Cancers!

The one's I have known do have some depression problems and are extremely sensitive but they hide it. They are fun and bubbly on the outside. They never dragged me down.
In fact they would set aside those issues and always be strong and supportive for me and then I turn around and am strong and supportive for them.
Whatever I do, it works on them. They feel better. It helps if they have some other things to balance it.
I knew a Cancer Sun but she had Leo moon.
I know a Cancer-Cancer but she has Leo Mars and Leo Mercury.
So maybe with my fire sun and air moon I draw in more stable Cancers? I could see that.

I do know a Cancer Sun Scorpio Moon and she can be too much after a while.

There are different Cancers. I have my downy debby moments but Im not a wet blanket all the time, I just get upset when bad things happen. If anything I find the Capricorns in my life are the wet blankets. They are always too afraid to do something or complaining about someone or they find the negative in EVERYTHING and I am just like shut up! and go with the flow.

I guess you really have to look at their moons too. I have a Taurus moon and I am seriously laid back and don't like drama or gossip. I only get uptight when someone is pushing my buttons, but that is everyone, I think.

I do find some truth in this.

Capricorns can be "debby downers" for sure. Not ALL of them though!

Same with Cancers.
Same with Pisces.

Even Sags can be extremely negative at times -- they are either VERY optimistic or VERY pessimistic. No middleground!

Agreed. Not all of them. I think it is with any sign you will find a majority of one thing but not all. Like it has been said on here many times we have to look at all the placements. I have met a few awesome Capricorns who are always up for a thrill.

My bestfriend/soul brother was a Sun in Cancer. I knew within 15 minutes of meeting we would be life long friends. Unfortunately, he chose to end his life by shooting himself. A decade has passed & their isn't a day I don't miss him. On the other hand, my ex fiance was a whiny mama's boy who took NO responsibility for his actions, was manipulative, etc... I was blamed for his cheating because I actually wanted him to work, help around the house, and help me raise HIS daughter from a previous marriage. I also took care of his elderly mom when she got seriously ill and all he would do is get stoned & play video games.

Depends on the cancer.

Some exemplify the positive traits of the sign and work hard to overcome the negative. Others are dominated by the negative.

I think Cancers improve vastly with age as we learn to understand our sensitivity and gain a stronger sense of self. People harp on Cancer moodiness but if they could understand how much it takes to maintain stable moods in the face of feeling and perceiving so much and in such depth, they might give us a break for it. I think we are good eggs overall.

Cancers appear soft but I think that they are strong survivors..very resourceful people...also very clannish and I can see how they could develop and us vs. them mentality. I personally find it very easy to cut people off after they have shown me they are not loyal. Thats not the same thing as cold blooded murder lol but it could be easy to dissociate from those types of horrendous acts in the right circumstances. I know some cancers who have done despicable things and are very self righteous about it, especially if they find people who can stick with them and make them feel justified...I'm a cancer too, not speaking for all cancers...just saying my observations..

The moods....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....makes me want to pull my hair out and shove it down my own throat so I can choke to death and be out of my misery. Best friend cancer, my son is a cancer, and I've had past romantic involvement with a cancer. Tender and sweet at times....like, make your heart melt want to hug and kiss them to little pieces and carry them in your back pocket sweet! I think that's what keeps me hanging on. But when their cranky, pouting, pissy mood sets in, it's like banging my head on a brick wall. I always feel like I'm walking on egg shells because they are like light switches! And all those cancers have told me I'm over dramatic WTH! Lol. They're ok...you just have to know how to deal with them.

I have my brother as one and several ex's and several ex friends as well. I can't stand this placement (for sun) - other cancer placements are tolerable because it's hidden beneath the surface - the sun brings it front and center to dislike. and they live in the past, dwell on the past, are stuck in the past, cannot move forward in a healthy fashion. sorry cancer suns!

They DO so live in the past!!! Can't live today because they are busy crying about yesterday and how it "messed them up" so bad. I don't get it! I always feel like a counselor with my cancer best friend!

Depends though. A lot of my relatives are cancers and I don't have any positive experience with them. "Vicious" is the right word to describe them.

Other than those, I've met a few cancers and they're all quite different. I tend to steer clear away from the ones that have sun oppose capricorn saturn <run>

What I see is that they're intuitive, they understand people and detect other people's Achilles' heels easily. Some use that skill to soothe and nurture. Some use it to bring others down.

Out of the cancers I know, the ones that I notice the most are:

One girl has sun/moon/venus/jupiter in cancer. Can dish it out but can't take it. She's very pretty. Used to make lots of mean comments on my appearance (and other women's), but cried when I snapped back.

One guy has sun/mercury/mars in cancer. Leo moon. He's drop dead gorgeous, a little shy and very very sweet.

Cancer friends: we have our differences. What I like about them the most is that they're very encouraging, ie: "If you are sad, just cry. It'll make you feel better". And they say that with such conviction, it's endearing. Lol and they take a very long time to get ready. I'm always like "Honey by the time we get there, there will no food/alcohol left and we'll have to wash the dishes". Ahahaha

I regret to inform you that your comments reek of beginners ignorance. I am a Cancer but I have been fortified by the dignified Jupiter in Cancer and tempered by the Capricornian Saturn Opposing my Sun. I am an evolved being and continue to learn to walk in my own light. Other Cancers are of varying levels of maturity. Who are you to judge all of us based on the three Cancers you've met?

Water and earth influence can make a cancer sun really depressed or too serious or too much, like you said.

Air and fire influences are more fun.

They're alittle moody at times and get emotional easily but can be very caring. They're usually quite funny however on the other side of the coin, they can be very selfish and complain a lot. Manipulative tendencies too.

I think you need to read her post more carefully. She said there hasn't been one cancer sun she's met that deviated from what she said, however it was the THREE cancer moons that were different.
