This is my understanding of planets so far...

Internal Planets: these planets orbit the Sun and as such, are purely internal processes.
Sun – Our active, individual self. People call it the ego because our Sun is what we are when we do things.
Mercury – Governs objective perception. It is the planet of data and facts and how we process these things. Communication falls under Mercury because communication is really just the exchange of information, and information is really just data.
Venus – Governs subjective perception. It is the planet of ideals and values as it allows us to appreciate things on a personal level. Things such as love, romance, and beauty fall under Venus because these are all personal ideals and values. Mercury and Venus are two halves which serve the Sun. Without Venus, we would be robots as we would process things purely as fact and logic. Without Mercury, sensations would bleed into one another and we would think based on whether we like or dislike how things make us feel.

External Planets: these planets encompass the internal planets and no longer orbit the Sun (astrologically speaking). As such, they deal with us (the Sun) interacting with the world.
Moon – Our personal selves. The Moon governs our memories and reactions and all things subconscious. Our Moon also defines our comfort zones, what we are drawn to, and our learnt reactions because the Moon remembers everything, good or bad, and allows us to remember how we were affected. The Moon is an external planet because, while we haven't moved yet, we are beginning to do something with our experience of the outside world.
Mars – Our cause for present existence and our desire for recognition. Mars is what we wish to prove, Mars makes us say “this is me.” Mars defines how we begin moving in the world. Up until now, every planet was internal, but Mars is the first step outwards.
Ceres – How we fit in and find place with others. Ceres allows us to relate and governs how and what we give to people and what we wish to receive in return. Mars allows us to go out and define ourselves, Ceres allows us to mesh. It is the planet of give and take, of nourishment. Ceres is the best candidate for Virgo's ruler when you consider Virgo's relation to service and Ceres' relation to give and take.
Jupiter – Evolution from experience. Moon remembers, Mars defines, Ceres shares, Jupiter provide upwards movement. Jupiter allows us to change and learn and grow. Every lesson the world teaches us falls into Jupiter’s lap and Jupiter governs how seek to grow from it. Jupiter and Saturn are considered social planets because of their longer orbits, the reason for this being they are broader and less personal. Jupiter doesn’t define our personality so much as he shows how we best learn.
Saturn – Structures, boundaries, and reality. Jupiter urges us onward, up and up, but Saturn has to be there to show us when to stop. Saturn influences our opinions and worldly views, he governs how we slow down and realise we’ve learnt enough to move onto another lesson.

Con't!

Essential “Higher Octave” Planets: these planets exist beyond Saturn, which is the border between reality and the other planes/dimensions of existence. These planets are called essential because they become less and less tangible and more and more like essences to understand. I personally feel it’s rare to be dominant in one of these planets because of this. I think to be dominant in one of these planets, they have to be making some important aspects otherwise I prefer to think of the traditional rulers. These are also my favourite planets because reality begins to fall apart.

Uranus – The idealised realm of imagination. Uranus represents the endless inspiration from which every idea and thought exists. In Uranus, things lose their definition and become more like abstract shapes, always and easily changing – like clouds in a sky (which Uranus is the god of). When Uranus is dominant in a person, the person cares less for responsibilities and obligations and instead focuses on the freedom to chase their ideals, to chase something greater and brighter. Eccentricity and changeability are by-products of Uranus since thoughts and ideas can change on a hair and suddenly we are inspired to run in a new direction.

Neptune – The undefined, primordial ocean of existence. Neptune represents the vast ocean where concepts and ideas begin to take or lose shape. Uranus pulls ideas out of Neptune and begins to define them until Saturn manifests them as real. Anything in Neptune has no set shape and is always merging, unifying, and drifting away from everything else. When Neptune influences us, we begin to lose touch with structure. We begin to refuse or even become blind to anything that keeps us separated from the things we want. Escapism is a form of Neptune because there is this general idea of what we want and we ignore everything that keeps us from that idea.

Pluto – The endless infinity of depth. If Uranus is the sky and Neptune is the ocean, Pluto represents the concept that the ocean never ends. There is no floor. Pluto is the dark depth which everything crawls out of and is the dark depth in which everything drifts into to cease existing. Pluto itself is like a lidless eye which sees all, even every~thing and no~thing. When Pluto is dominant in a person, they have the instinctive desire to always go further, to dig deeper. Pluto urges us to identify flaws, destroy them, and sculpt with the ashes. Jealousy and obsession stem from Pluto’s desire to transform as quickly as possible, and Pluto doesn’t care if you get hurt along the way so long as the scars remind you not to make the same mistake again.

Eris – The eternal paradox of existence, the threshold between opposites. Eris represents the concept that everything exists as something and that nothing can exist as everything. The paradox of existence is that things arise to balance and counter something else. For example, if something exists, then it can also not exist, which is the opposite. You can experience emotion but you can also feel emotionless – the concept of “emotionless” arose because of the concept of “feeling emotion”. The paradox is that you cannot be both and Eris defines our existences through this. When Eris influences us, we are especially sensitive to the challenge of discovering truth or ruining our self through ignorance. Eris comes after Pluto because Pluto is limitless, Pluto is one thing, and Eris defines existence as there always being an eternal other. Pluto is limitless so therefore it is not limited. As one of the furthest planets, Eris permeates everything within her orbit.

Thanks! This will aid me in understanding (learning)interpretation of planets in signs, houses, and aspects to other planets.

Ceres in Aquarius...hm...I imagine you feel treated and appreciated the best when people allow you to be yourself and allow you space to spout ideas and thoughts on things, and when they're comfortable enough around you to do the same. Here, you'll probably enjoy friendships that are easy and even a little silly, but with a certain amount of distance too. No obligation to impress or be something - that's what makes you feel good and that's what you try to provide to others.

Anything accurate here?
