So - I'm helping this friend of mine with her chart. She wants to analyze it. The problem is a lacking birth time.
Now I'm trying to determine what her Rising Sign could be and I told her it wouldn't be that difficult (LOL).

I've tried to put it in three categories.
#1 : Physical characteristics
#2 : First impressions
#3 : placements of the planets in the houses

I don't want to post a picture of her without permission (she wouldn't like it anyways) - so I'm gonna describe her here.

She's average height,
clear blue eyes,
pretty, delicate features,
ashy blonde, straight hair
high forehead,
small chin,
heart-shaped face

She looks Virgo-ish to me. At least that was my first instinct. But then I realized that she could be a Gemini ASC as well. The physical characteristic between the two Rising Signs are pretty much the same to me.

She is outgoing and fun but that could just be her Gemini Sun conjunct Jupiter and a Virgo ASC would put her Sun in the 9th house which would fit her personality.

On the other hand she has a very...clear look. Very...idk how to put it. The one thing that sets the two ASC apart to me is that...commercial appeal of Gemini Risings that makes them look more polished, I guess. But that would put a bunch of planets in the second house which I don't agree with!

She really wants to read her chart.
Any great suggestions, tips etc would be amazing and I'd be eternally grateful!

Oh man, I should have known that this is hard. I know that some astrologers can identify the Rising Sign by looking at major life events and houses but I'm no where close to being that professional.
I'm probably biased when it comes to Virgo Risings bc I am one and I really come to life meeting new people. It's like acting and there's nothing more fun than talking to strangers. But I guess that's other parts of my chart doing that.

Yeah, it's really hard to 'know', what her Ascendant is without time of birth.
Even the Moon isn't really accurate, but you can assume with that one.

I also don't know her other placements.
I asked for her Mercury because I'm trying to see if an Ascendant's depositor will help.

Moon in Cancer
Mercury in Taurus
Venus in Cancer
Mars in Cancer
Jupiter in Gemini
Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn
and Pluto in Scorpio

I come off Geminian/airy but the truth is I am a Virgo ASC through and through

If you want to know if she's truly a Virgo ASC, ask her those few questions :

* When she gets nervous or terribly mad, does her stomach starts to ache instantly ?

* From scale 1 to 10, how picky is about the kind of guys she dates ?

* When she is assigned as head of a certain project, how much does she insists on perfection and excellence ?

* Do people often mistake her for someone of a younger age ?

* When she meets someone for the first time, does she retreat back and observe them until she is directly asked to participate in a conversation ?

* Does she look or feel smaller/shorter than most women ?

* Does she radiate an image or a feel of a cynical professionalism/wisdom at first glance, even without meaning to ?

*Does she wear the scholar image of the sharp, intellectual and smart woman despite the truth of whether she is truly an intellectual person or not ?

* Does she feel a weird urge to help people at the most unusual situations ?

*Does she hold a special respect/affection towards the elder and those of special needs ?

If German, a mutable Asc may still look like a solid Fixed Asc.

The main difference, to me, between Gemini and Virgo Asc is in body's thickness - Earth is sturdier. Now, with Asc ruler in Taurus, you would get a more softer appearance, more elegant, think Uma Thurman. The limbs (Mercury) are lean, the movements are less springy, there's less of physical manifestations of nervous energy. Gemini is waifish, Virgo dainty and alert. Both have very bright, sparkling eyes, so you can tell they are clever. Virgo Asc often has quality hair - straight, darker hues.

Take transits to Mercury - dynamic ones (0°,90° and 180°) - the receiving ones, from tSaturn and Jupiter and tUranus, Neptune and Pluto, see whether something significant happened in those times that correspond to transiting planet in question. Look out for DWs (tMercury to natal) as well, to pinpoint the influences in more detail.
