Private not secretive. Mercury on its own isn't secretive; it's only when you have its energy sieved through H8/12 prism you get a mysterious Mercury. IP: Logged |

Interaction between Scorpio/Pluto and Mercury/Virgo/H6...and to a lesser degree, Jupiter can function in place of Pluto and Gemini can function in place of Virgo too, but generally those two from what I've seen! IP: Logged |

I do research history, facts, where sayings originated from, general studies like human Microbiology, animals, insects, etc. I'm also the kind of person who will look up public records of my neighbors, coworkers, etc for heck of it. Not to intentionally be creepy but to observe as closely as possible from afar as a matter of learning more about human nature, behavior, etc and the patterns of those things. To understand people. I really rarely do that but on occasion

quote: mercury quindecile pluto.
What's the interp for that? I have Mercury Quintile Pluto, and that's a good one: Mercury Quintile or Bi-Quintile Pluto You appreciate any work that is done with passion. You enjoy periodically becoming fully engrossed in a book, research, movie, sports, or any other activity. You have the ability to develop expertise or excellent technique through your combination of creativity and focused attention. http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/quintile_biquintile.html Mercury quintile Pluto You have a remarkable talent for expressing the most forbidden, obscure or arcane subject matter, and for analyzing hidden psychological patterns. You are gifted at getting right to the essence of a situation or subject, and would be an excellent researcher or investigator. Psychological counseling would also be a natural ability for you, as you understand and can verbalize things in a way that is easily understood by others. http://members.wizzards.net/~magyan/Mercury_Aspects.html quote: What's connected to these tendencies? I think I am one...
Well, Pluto is obsessive, so I'd look to that, and research is Mercury. I'd look for connections between the two. I'd look at 8th house planets to see which planets peek behind the curtain. I'd look at Mercuries. Mutable signs gather LOTS of information. Cardinal signs gather specific information towards some end. Fixed signs can get obsessed with ideas. quote: my tightest midpoint pictureMoon=Mercury/Pluto=Sun/Pluto Tell me about obsessive research
Interesting. I can see that. quote: Pluto...Would a Scorpio 3rd house with Pluto be enough?
Maybe. quote: Mercury in Virgo, 3rd decan, 12th house
Mercury in Mutable sign and house...that's an information gatherer, and being in the 12th would account for it being hidden. quote: H3 ruler in H8.
Hmmm...that would be my Sun in the equal house system. That's an interesting way of looking at it. quote: Pluto in the 5th, and Scorpio ruling my 6th house. I am pretty crafty on digging up info about others (Mercury in the 11H).
Pluto in the 5th means nothing to me. Scorpio ruling the Virgoan 6th could combine the obsessive with the information gathering. Mercury in the 11th might make it tenacious, and if it's in Aries it might be demanding an answer. quote: What about the 4th house? Can Mercury placed there make one secretive?
I would say yes. Cancer can be a secretive sign in it's pursuit of safety and stability. Also, it may endeavor to keep secret any information that might embarrass it. quote: I have a Virgo ASC
A Mercury chart ruler would certainly contribute towards information gathering as well as a general comprehensive use of your mind. quote: Private not secretive.
Interesting distinction, but I'm sure she also means private when speaking of "hidden." quote: Hmmm. I tend to be secretive though, in real life at least.
That's partly to do with being feminine. From this thread I know that your Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Ascendant are all feminine signs, which are innately less overt. As a fellow Capricorn with his Sun in a water-ruled house (8th), I think that's kind of par for the course. I have Sun, Jupiter, Moon, and Mars in feminine signs, and I can be secretive. quote: I have sun sq. pluto and i don't feel right if i have nothing to obsessively research, whether its people, astrology or anything else. Right now im really obsessed with astrology lol..
I have that, too. I wouldn't count that on the research side necessarily, but privacy maybe. IP: Logged |

Pluto in twelve I am sure causes me to dig a bit deeper. It's not conjunct Mercury or the ascendant but it is conjunct Uranus and Uranus is. So I guess Pluto does affect my mind to some degree, at least subconsciously and I am rarely satisfied with superficial knowledge even though I feel inaccurate at times.IP: Logged |
