I'm a Leo ASC and I absolutely love Leo Moon folk. Most of my chart is fire though, if not by sign, then by house.

I would think that your own Sun or Moon sign would have more influence on this honestly..

I wonder though how the reverse would play out. A person with Leo Moon would best suited to have their emotional needs met by a person with Leo (or fire) Sun. But the Asc is not the Sun; it’s more of a persona than the person. Could the Moon person be under the illusion that the Asc person is suited to nurture them, but since it’s not the Sun, there’d be no “there there”?

I agree with your opinion. I had a Moon/Asc conjunction with an ex. He's a Pisces one. Didn't work, too dark emotions to me to cope (he has moon in scorpio). I go better with another Moon in fire signs

My mother is a Tropical Leo Sun - Leo Mars 12th conjunct Leo ascendant - Leo Mercury Conjunct Leo Black Moon 1st (Virgo Soul)

That's more than just the ascendant, but she loves Leo moons, haha
