I'm I right to assume that the orb should be pretty tight for aspects in the natal chart to the nodes?

If you are born near an Eclipse, the Sun or Moon will give it quite a large Orb.

More so than the planets. Where is your node again? My north node is in Pisces.

Pretty sure the orbs for the nodes are either three or five degrees, the more exact the better.

5° - 6° for the conjunction and square work fine, I think.
For sextiles and trines: 3° - 4°.

NN is 21*8' Pisces.

It's amazing, but even after studying my chart for decades, I'm always finding something new.

I've taken my NN grand trine with 25*42' Cancer Moon & 26*11' Scorpio Neptune as fact, but never saw the 24*32' Virgo Pluto as opposing.

So that made me ask how tight does the orb have to be...and if these are close enough, that's one heavily aspected NN.

North Node in Libra in the 3rd House square Uranus, (exact) Neptune and trine Moon.

Other insignificant aspects as well such as quindecile Pluto and bQ Saturn (exact)

South Node in Aries in the 9th House with the same aspects except no bQ to Saturn, instead of quindecile Pluto, it quincunx it and instead of trine Moon, it sextiles it.

I’ve interpreted my 1st house Virgo SN (Sun and Pluto are here too) as my default position of being me-centric, overly independent, critical, analytical, overly planned/inflexible…and my 7th house Pisces NN fulfillment will come by being we-centric, relational, compassionate, imaginative, and going with the flow.

If any of you have more input on this…by all means.

I’ve seen the NN trine with Moon and especially Neptune being the cosmos giving me a leg up on this. But are they too weak? And now, I’m not sure what to make of the Pluto opposition…how it fits in.

Since I have the same as yours, might as well share more about mine. North node is at Pisces 21°10'23"D and squares Mars at Sagittarius 19°13' 0" and opposite Virgo Pluto at 24°21'49". It is trine Neptune with an orb of a little over four degrees. It's got a lot going on. Mutable squares and opt often denote a lot of instability and desire to not always see things through or stick around. It indicates boredom and restlessness, wanting to wander and change scenes, meet new people, IME. The Pisces North node is spiritual, romantic, and likes to space out. It likes for people to be nice all the time, not scheming or manipulative since Neptune is doing a lot in my chart. There's escapists tendencies big time. Since Mars is in three and Pluto's in twelve, I can be hurt by people say. North node is in six. I could even develop psychosomatic illnesses due to stress.

So, this is an example of how I interpret my node. Hope this helps you out.

Isn’t this just Mars in Sagittarius in general? :-)

Hmmm…how does this work with the Pluto opp…square Mars no less? At a higher level, transformation on the order of death-rebirth? At a lower level, beware of manipulators and manipulating?

Yes but it's worse with the challenging aspects ime and harder to manage than just general Mars in Sag restlessness. The square and opposition make urges stronger, energy more intense, so it interferes more with other areas and can be problematic, depending on the circumstance.

Yep, Mars is involved in a t square with the node and Pluto houses 3, 6 and 9 :S
I find it brings a lot of psychological turmoil through schemes and machinations of others.

You have a first house nn, correct. The affects of the t square, if you have it, would be more intense imo, and less psychological. They would play out in a more obvious, intense way, in front of you, not behind your back. Like, a fight with your partner, for instance, where you both start throwing dishes. This exact thing might not happen with you, of course, it's just an example of what I am talking about.

With my node and houses, my partner would run to others and complain about me while I'm not around, or go behind my back and scheme. With yours, your partner would scream right at you, in front of you, not go to others, just have it out right there.

I’ve always been the one prone to yelling and throwing the dishes…not them.

About Mars in Sag…would you characterize yourself as skittish or easily spooked? Until I read that recently, I never saw it in myself, then I was like ohhh yes. It must be the half horse thing. I’d expect it more in 4th house concerns where my Mars is, but it mostly turns up in 1st & 7th house areas…the ends of the t-square.

Yep I am definitely like that but I always assumed it was the Virgo, sun, lol.

Well, anyway, it's great talking to you! Anything I have trouble with in my chart, I can just ask you what you think and you will have first hand knowledge. This helps me out quite a bit

Well I’m guessing Mars recently entered your 12th. Good luck with that!

Today Mars finally entered my 1st…where it’s at home. For the past couple months. My energy and self-esteem have been down the drain. Escapism and avoidance has been high. I’d go to bed early and sleep fitfully. And then there were the headaches.

It's going to enter it very soon, thanks for the warning, heh. Should be nice.

TVenus is about to conjunct NMars too. It seemed just yesterday Venus was in Libra, now it's almost through Sag.

And when Mars does it make it to my ascendant, it will be in Libra. Double wammy for me!

The woo hoo months of Mars in my 11th distracted me from keeping track of transits. If I had been paying attention, I would have had a routine of yoga, meditation, or something else in place before the inertia set in. The escapism of sitting lotus staring at a blank wall would have been preferable to my butt on the couch with a bottle of wine.

I'm not a fatalist and think we can work with the energies instead of having them work against us.

Oh well. Mars in the 1st will be an excellent time to get active again, and coupled with the Mars-Venus conjunction, I wanna find someone to kiss. Vacation this weekend!

I think it's a good time to start something meaningful like a hobby or similar. With all those Libra planets, it's hard to decide on what :/ That's the problem! 12th house is good for busy projects that require a lot of attention and insulating to complete.

Have fun on your trip!

Good thread. It had given me a pause when in astro.com my 7 52 opposition to the north node from the sun wasn't listed while some secondary aspects were. Now I get it. lol
