Tell me your ceres and moon aspects...EDIT: what I mean is any aspects you have involving the moon list them and any aspects you have involving ceres list them. I dont mean what are your moon/ceres aspects although if you have any you can also mention it.

Then talk about how you feel about your mother and what kind of relationship you two have: distant, close, warm, cold, non existent, you talk every day..etc???

I think the responses could be very informative/didactic.

I will start:

Moon square neptune in the first house. My mom has a strong personality and to be fair so do I (thanks to ascendent conjunct jupiter/uranus and mars in leo) but I had to fight for my identity always bc it always felt she wanted to shape me into herself and not let me develop freely. She was anxious, overprotective, controlling, authoritarian and not a good listener to me growing up. She is also very nourishing, compassionate, humanitarian, hard working, responsible, loyal, reliable and REALLY means well, good provider and doors always open. My moon opposes my sun and I always felt my parents are opposites, my dad is a therapist and great listener, he is not controlling at all and flexible and understanding, playful and affectionate. Its funny bc both are caps with venus in aqua but the other placements clearly make them quite different.

Yea my mom and I have a lot of tension going on but also a lot of real honest love and affection towards one another, is a mix bag........I do tend to be pretty open with both of my parents though, a lot more than my sister and seek them for support when I need it.

My ceres is unaspected but it conjuncts my dad's venus and my mom's venus and I have always felt that I need to protect them and the idea of losing them terrifies me since I was little and still today.

My sun in the 10th squares neptune and my dad was not the disciplinarian in the house and bc of his career for about 9 years or so he traveled a lot and was away from home but I always felt unconditionally loved by him and understood he was doing this to provide for us.

I have moon trine Ceres in Aquarius. My mother never cared and wasn't very affectionate either. I spent all my life hating her till recently but she's still got a bit of a vengeance personality which she's working on I guess.

Is that the only moon aspect or ceres aspect in your chart???

Edit: is your moon in your 12th house? what are the house placements for your moon and ceres?

Ceres in Leo/H12
Moon in Aquarius/H6
Both receive only squares (and a conjunction to Mars, in Ceres' case).

Me and my mum have a kinda tense relationship. We were supah close when I was younger and often took each other's side in contrast to my sister and father, but after my father left and my mum dipped into a depression, that's when things became strained. She's doing better now but I'm still distant and aloof towards her and she often irritates me with many of her little habits and mannerisms.

She herself is a pretty vibrant person, really comes alive and lights up around people. Buuuut she's also scatter-brained, is quick to assume slights, martyrly, and kind of neurotic when you move from public to private behaviour (which I live with). She can also be cantankerous and tends towards scornful thinking, though she doesn't act on it. She has hurt me and pushed me far in the past, but, naturally, I've moved on from those things and don't hold them against her. Affection is uncomfortable for me at this point in time.

I think we'd have a better relationship once I move out. I know she's going to miss me.

My Ceres: 1.47 Gemini
My mother's Saturn: 1.16 Gemini

My Saturn: 0.37 Leo
My mother's Ceres: 1.37 Leo

Not lying!

So we have this DW Ceres-Saturn conjunction. Interestingly, both of us were closer to our fathers than our mothers (in my case, especially after my mom died when I was 14, my dad raised me.)

My dad's Ceres might be conjunct my Vertex but I don't have my exact birth time. His Neptune is conjunct my Saturn and mom's Ceres.

My moon at 18 Pisces only makes one major aspect to a planet, and that's a sextile to my Cap sun. Saturn again. Yeah no wonder my parents died when I was still rather young.

Their composite Ceres is conjunct my Pluto and that's fitting since their combined effect on my life has been, amongst other things of course, to teach me to deal with hardship and intensity. Sorry to complain, this is just how the story goes, I have no other story.

My pisces moon trines my uranus, my mother gave us a lot of space which i appreciated (her venus exact conj my moon as well) but my sister did not.

My ceres conjuncts my venus, not in aspect but same sign as my mother's mars.her ceres trines my saturn.

For the most part we had a great relationship. We had a few rough years when my daughter was young, but later she relaxed when she saw her grandaughter was not disastrously affected by my mothering style.

Tell me was she a good provider though...perhaps that is how she shows her love by providing and making sure your needs are met and pushing you to get a career.

Why do you say mediocre?? no relationship is perfect specially with mothers..I would think that if the only aspect your moon has is to ceres and is a trine that relationship would be descent.

DO you have other moon aspects???

I have moon opposite Neptune, and trine Mercury, Uranus and Pluto. It's just not a normal relationship like a lot of women have with their mothers. It's not like we are ripping each other's throats out. We get along better now than we did. We just don't do well under the same roof. Our personalities clash and we have different ways of relating to the world.

Yeah I can relate to that completely...I have moon square neptune and you have moon opposite neptune and just like you I get along better with her now that I dont live with her...I love her but smaller dosages of spending time together is what works for me....if not tension builds up and conflict kicks in as we are very different but is the neptune I feel that makes our differences harder to deal with......the boundaries bt us is poor, growing up I felt she wanted to breath for me and shape me into her.

Thanks for sharing!!! Maybe when it comes to relationships with our mothers squares, conjunctions and oppositions involving the moon are more relevant as well as the moon placement and moon sign. I Think I should have left ceres out perhaps for this thread for better focus and to facilitate understanding and learning this better.

You're welcome!

What about Pluto? Do you have any aspect between Moon and Pluto? Pluto can indicate a change in the relationship over time, like it gets better, sometimes, due to psychotherapy or counseling although I haven't been personally. My moon/Pluto trine involves the eighth and twelfth houses which points very strongly to psychoanalysis although I do this myself, in my own mind, rather than venture to someone else.

Very interesting input you have brought up about pluto and the moon.

My moon does not aspect my pluto but my moon rules my 8th house and yeah I have done a lot of self therapy you can say as well and self psychoanalysis and that has resulted in my relationship with my mother changing and improving over time. I mean I studied psychology in college and basically I felt that helped me a lot, I learned about enmeshed family structures and authoritarian parenting styles etc in college. I wanted to be a therapist but I think me studying psychology ended up been more about helping myself and about my thirst for understanding the world and humans in an in depth manner.

Good one, didn't think of that. Thanks.

Ceres and Moon are both 5H Sag for me...like Mars, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Eros (possibly more asteroids).

We don't talk because she doesn't really want it, at least not in a healthy way. But I can see why she went bad (probably all my Libra with Scorpio influences) and feel a detached sort of love (not to be confused with trust) for her as well as pity (she'd prefer my hate, and as I do genuinely love her I never let her know I pity her, and she might literally kill me if I did). This may also be that the extended family had a significant role in raising me and it was drilled into me that family sticks together even if you don't get along personally, and other than Mom & Dad they have for me. Or, again, it could be my Libra.

And all my Sag means I don't want to be tied down. Having my 'rents was hard but I prefer their neglect to the smothering many other parents burden their kids with. That said I wanted to live with Granny but Mom wouldn't let me (and the courts do what mamma says) as she wanted the child support (which she used to fund her addictions). I'm actually more bitter about the court and my so-called "advocate" (lying ***** ) during the divorce than I am at either of the 'rents. And who knows, without the child support Mom might've sold the house she won a lot sooner and moved to where she is now (in sight of Granny's place) and we might be closer today as she let me go (and I wouldn't have left Texas, or be here at LL).

I'm close with Granny who was like my mom half the time. I've proven myself more loyal to her than many who live by her. If I could I'd talk to her a lot more than I do but she doesn't have a computer and being over a thousand miles away...it would be a bother. But if she were my biological mom I believe we'd be close in the same way.

What are your moon aspects?? or do you have any planets in the 4th house and if so what are the aspects??

You mention extended family and the court getting involved so I am thinking maybe there are some mercury and jupiter aspects in your chart or better yet some planets in the 3rd house. Do you feel in essence your extended family raised you the most??? If so maybe in your case is better to check out planets in the third house or the ruler of your third house and those aspects.

Perhaps moon in sag in the 5th shows your mom was too busy having fun to be there for you but that alone would not do it I think, do you have any moon aspects??

EDIT: I think granny can be covered by the moon as well or the ruler of your 4th house.

Moon sextile 3H Sun (Libra), Mercury, Saturn, Pluto. 4H Jupiter.

I'd have to find my chart for more specific details than that (to go with what I already shared) and I'm not up for that at the moment.

As for how I felt, Granny raised me until I was nearly 5 (when Mom took me to spite Granny) and then I spent several summers with Granny growing up (extended family owns many acres together) including my 13th where I stayed to go to school there for several more months (turning 14) while my Mom and Dad worked out some details of their divorce (and then the courts forced me to live with Mom). I always felt close to Granny and was very close (though not always getting along with) with my older cousin who also lived with Granny more often than not (though his parents lived in sight of Granny's) and I kinda think of him more as a brother. I felt more a prisoner when living with Mom and/or Dad and probably why as as kid I related so much to the kids in fairy tales with like the wicked stepmother. In retrospect my original fairy tales I authored were about me wanting to escape back to Granny.

My moon is in the 9th house. Ceres is in the 6th house.

They make an exact trine.

Ceres also makes an exact trine to Saturn and Pluto.
Sextile Neptune
Opposite Venus

You and mango I feel have made me question my theory about moon aspects describing relationship with mother.

You both have some real nice aspects and yet your stories of your mother does not match the soft moon aspects you both have.

I have moon oppositve sun and moon square neptune and moon in the 4th and moon opposite mercury and my mom and I are close and love each other but our relationship has always been tense and full of conflict too which makes sense bc I do have a lot of challenging aspects involving the moon but also have moon in pisces in the 4th....hence the mix bag.

I cant explain why in your case and mango's case my theory does not add up.

Those two examples refute my theory....

All I can think of that could explain this is transits......

It would be super cool if you check out your transits the first 10 years of your life.

Perhaps uranus was transiting your 4th or 10th house during your childhood.....this would explain all the disruption and instability in your home life when you were a kid as your natal aspects dont explain this. Perhaps your childhood transits would explain this.

When you have time feel free to get back at me with this.
