Clinginess for me has always been related to Cancer placements (and sometimes some Saturn in the mix).

People with Cancer placements - either I was the clingy one, or they were the clingy one.

Always ended up badly.

I think I have (had?) some karma to work out with Cancer energy because the most intense experiences I've had in my life were always with people who had some prominent Cancer in their chart (can't tell you the number of Cancer crushes I've had in my life, and lots of friends with strong Lunar energy).

I think it has to do with my Moon squaring the Nodal axis.

Are Cancers the only ones who are clingy? There's no other aspects to create that one-way energy?

The girl had a Cancer moon, and she drove me nuts!!! We weren't that close and she kept messaging me everyday, without much to say.

Certainly not.

A prominent Lunar energy can be quite clingy, as well - especially if the Moon receives hard aspects from Saturn or Pluto, because it creates a "hunger" for emotional connection.

The energy can be projected onto others (especially with the opposition aspect) and if you have Moon/Pluto or Moon/Saturn, you can attract clingy people (instead of being the clingy one).

I think they can be obsessive, and depending on their maturity it's only when that obsessiveness seems returned. I think obsessive and clingy are different though.

She was a Capricorn Sun, no Saturn/Moon but she had Moon trine Pluto which I didn't notice before.

Well, Cancer Moons are clingy by definition so they don't need to have Saturn or Pluto aspects.

I know a Cancer with lots of Libra planets who's really clingy too. Seems to be a Moon thing...

I can be too but not possessive. More clingy when I am around someone but not when they are gone. I do it because I feel shy and insecure. It's mostly when I am around new people and do not know anyone except the one I am clinging to. I don't mean anything by it. I just feel anxiety around people I don't know well or new places. Maybe moon in Taurus likes familiarity?

I'm not really clingy or needy though. I think I confuse people by the way I act. I only cling when I feel insecure, in new situations. The rest of the time I like some space and am an independent, loner type. Very Uranian since it's my most strongly aspected, prominent planet, touching nearly everything in my chart except sun and Mars, coincidentally, the most masculine light and planet. When I am by myself, I don't cling to anyone, of course, lol, and I am not intimidated about going places alone so I guess that means I am independent in that regard.

The girl who was super clingy to a degree it made me uncomfortable had Sagittarius rising. Guess she really couldn't help it, lmao.

And I agree with Doux, Cancer suns that I've known have been very independent and Aries-like almost.

The most clingy person I know has a Sag Moon. No cancer placements at all. I'm thinking in this case its the Pisces Venus and Mars conjunct in 7th house that doesn't do him any favors.
