I have to agree to this. I think it is fear of creepy. Real creeps are charmers possibly Libra haha!. I think most would be stranger so really you aren't going to ask them their birth date. I don't know of any who come off as creepy to everyone well enough to get their sign. There's one guy but all I know about him is that he's a Capricorn, and I suspect he has a lot of Cappie to him with perhaps a strong streak of Pisces and/or Cancer, but that's speculation on my part. I barely interact with him at all anymore and given his paranoia I doubt it would do me any good to ask him for info to do his natal chart anyway. He did however think women would find obsessive stalking flattering (maybe some Scorpio, too?), but no, and he was angry and baffled that women were getting restraining orders against him. The guy was traumatized from a horrible upbringing and I suspect suffering severe mental illness so I'm not certain he counts. And authors that said "this placement comes off as creepy to others" isn't likely to sell many books, especially if they're that bluntly honest about other placements (and therefore very hard to read about, too). And what I've noticed is that prejudice has a lot to do with it. If a person fears goths or neopagans then those people come off as creepy to the bigots (and probably to those the bigot hangs with but not other people). Ditto on race and in other ways. Heck, prejudice against sun signs might do it. And as various witch hunts (some literal, including the Satanic Panics of the 80s & 90s) show it's easy for such bigotry to spread and become inflamed. As for when people stare at me I take in peripheral clues as well. But many seem to want to go with the worst possible interpretation they can (though others go the opposite extreme). IP: Logged |
