I do have Pluto Conjunct Mercury in a very close orb. Both in the 12th house, and I do sense the weakness in people.

My Mars is at 2 Gemini 10th house and it's 15 degrees away from Mercury in Taurus in the 9th.

I had this aspect going on around the beginning of March this year and yeah, I guess now that I think about it I was aware of some weaknesses in my working environment. People were either not talking or talking just because they wanted something.

I actually really didn't like where I was working mostly because there was so little communication going on that it created some misunderstandings that later became business problems. The people I was working for just expected me to already know everything mostly because they didn't want to fund research or anything else useful.

But I don't think this aspect or transit will show you weaknesses that aren't there and I don't think it will blind you to strengths if any.

Also, what are "weaknesses"? I need examples of that or what you detect in people that others don't see? Someone said bad habits and I agree. I see others bad habits but I didn't know that would be attributes to this aspect, I thought that was more Saturn based.

Sextile is 60 degrees with +/- 4 orb... Mars at 29 Gem and Merc at 0 Taurus are sextile I would think.

In my experience the "weakness" was just lack of communication. The people I worked with expected me to know how things operate there and had been operating there for a long time without any explanation or prior experience. The clients expected me to learn their cases and do research on my own time because "I should already know that."

It was only a weakness in so far as it wasn't a formula for success for me.
