When I (Virgo) was a teen, my uncle (Pisces) took my cousin Gretchen (Sag) and Steve (Gem) out for a little boating. Steve had just gotten an inflatable boat for his birthday and we had to try it out. Us 3 kids were in the boat just paddling around while my uncle watched from the shore. Then the wind picked up and we were pushed further and further into the lake. So Steve kicks into high gear to row us back to shore, but it's futile. Then (somehow) both of the blade parts of the paddles unscrewed from the shafts and go floating away. Steve starts bawling. I don't think it was out of fear as much as his brand new toy breaking. But Gretchen sensing the gravity of the situation, leans over the bow and starts to dog paddle us in using her arms, screaming "I'll save us Steven." Meanwhile my uncle is running up and down the beach, arms flailing, in a panic. I, ever helpful, start laughing my ass off. Gretchen was making some headway, but the wind was still increasing, and she wouldn't be able to keep up. Steve's still bawling, uncle's still flailing, I'm still laughing and end up falling in the lake.* At this point, I realize that even though we were still a ways out, the lake is shallow there and am able to drag us to shore. On a wet ride home, we're given a solemn warning NOT to tell auntie (Cancer) what had happened. Yeah right! * I don't know why, but this is a common occurrence in my life. I've been dumped out of canoes and boats several times. I've walked right into pools fully clothed, I've sledded into an icy creek, I've ridden my bike into the Mississippi, and on and on. My favorite, which is a story in itself, was a 4th of July after sunset, and several other cousins and I are sitting on a dock. 'Dancing in the Moonlight' was playing on the radio, and moved by it, I start dancing in the moonlight...and right into the lake. IP: Logged |

That inflatable raft sounds kinda flimsy if it fell apart so easily :SThanks for sharing your story. Afflicted Cancer moon, maybe? I have an afflicted Taurus one and I fell in a fish pond once before school and started freaking out. It just got on my coat and me being typical Virgo thought it was ruined. IP: Logged |

No Moon affliction…sextile Pluto, trine Neptune & NN.But I’m VERY accident prone. One of my nicknames is Crash. I guess with these examples I could be called Splash. Maybe it’s my afflicted Sag Mars. I tend to leap before I look…if I even look at all.

Haha that's cute! Crash and Splash! Glad you're okay though It could be Sag Mars. Mars here can incline you to be braver about trying extreme-type physical feats and these are where you can experience accidents. Actually you can experience accidents anywhere doing anything but it's easier if you are jumping off a bridge into a pond/can't see the bottom to know if there are any rocks and similar activities. I'm clumsy at times too and stumble over my own feet some.

Extreme sports? Not me. I can be a bit of a chicken…except when it comes to bicycling…a Sag activity. Then I’m an utter maniac. But yes, I’m just total a klutz and/or careless. Walking, standing, sitting, any body movement present their own problems…riding into fences, cars, the aforementioned river…rushing headlong into walls, bus tubs…knocking over things. I’m the guy at a work meeting who’ll fall on the floor when trying to sit in a chair.I REALLY want a motorcycle, but my mom said she’d have me locked up.

great allegory! I have to say I have noted a tendency to accident-prone in Virgo esp rising but also other placements. Not sure how that computes but it has run true in observation IP: Logged |

Be careful on motorcycles. I once crashed my cousin's moped into a ditch out in the country, lol. I think my balance is too off for motorcycles but I like bicycles and cars, of course. I love driving! It's relaxing. I have that Sag sense of adventure for sure. Sounds like you do, too! IP: Logged |

LOL you are adorable! Your mars is at odds with your basic personality it seems....self-sabotage is a classic virgo trait...these are lessons you will learn from and integrate as you go along? I think you should keep writing! You have much insight and humour which will teach you and others along the way IP: Logged |

Thanks Catalina, I am adorable, aren't I But you also touched upon a truth...the tension between Sag & Virgo. The first acts without thinking or planning. The second thinks and plans themselves into fits...then maybe'll act. Then there's the tension between my Leo Venus and the Virgo. The first demands to be in the spotlight and the second likes to avoid it. IP: Logged |

Yes...exploring the physical world and the world of ideas. Road trips, and urban lost weekends are the best. When things go wrong or unexpectedly, as is usually the case, it can be even better. Some capers and experiences can truly be memorable. IP: Logged |

Back to my original story, I tend to see one mutable trait as being pulled/pushed in many different directions. The lake that day was pretty solitary, but I can only imagine an outsider looking upon us and seeing a bunch of squirrels on fire running around.IP: Logged |

Is this a Virgo thing? I (also being a Virgo) react the exact same way. I'm not usually trying to be mean or callous, I just find the situation absurdly hilarious. For instance, I once went camping with a Pisces friend, at the behest of a mutual Virgo friend who hadn't arrived yet (Pisces friend doesn't like camping much). We were camping right on the lake, and it was windy without any trees. So I helped the Pisces put the tent together and pop it up. Before we could put the stakes down, the wind caught the tent and it started rolling end over end right towards the lake. I ended up doubled over in laughter while my Pisces friend chased after it, all the while glaring at me. I finally stopped laughing long enough to weakly chase after it, while giggling. We managed to wrangle it back to where it was supposed to be, but Pisces was really glaring at me by that point. It truly wasn't an intentional reaction. I just found the situation so ridiculously funny that I couldn't stop laughing. There was another time where I went tubing with a large group of people. It wasn't well planned, and the river was freezing, and it got windy and then it started raining when we were about halfway between the starting and ending point of the trip. We ended up getting off the river, standing in the freezing rain in our bathing suits, until someone flagged down a passing truck to take a bunch of us back to our cars (the first and only time I've ever been forced to hitchhike in my life). At the point when a bunch of a jumped into the bed of the truck I just started laughing because it was so absurdly disastrous (not to mention dangerous- many looked like they might easily get hypothermia). I laughingly said out loud: "The only way this could get any worse is if it started hailing right now!" Two minutes after I said that it started hailing. Luckily we got back to our cars quickly and it all turned out ok. I happened to run into a tubing group member months after the incident, and I happened to overhear her saying to an acquaintance: "And then SOMEONE said: 'The only way this could get any worse was if it started hailing,'- And then it DID!!!" I cut in and said: "Yeah, that was me..." IP: Logged |
