Has anyone met such a person?
Like, Poseidonas in Cancer
Poseidonas as Chart Ruler with a Solar Cancer?
If you have, what have you noticed about them?

Well, last time Neptune was in Cancer was about 100 years ago, so nope.

But if you mean people with a Cancer Sun and a prominent Neptune... There are tons of them in the 90's generation (but Uranus is also part of the equation).
Usually they have their Sun (or some other planet) in Cancer opposite Uranus / Neptune in Capricorn.

They're definitely peculiar people.
Many of them are quite smart and artistic, and have progressive ideas (that's prolly the Uranus).

Mental problems seem to be quite common as well (due to the foggy sense of self / delusions; a hyperactive nervous system and mental strain).

I know a person with a prominent Poseidonas and a solar Cancer... they seem to be very possessive around the people they know, and I can't help but get the feeling that there's some sort of ideal behind it.

That's a Cancer trait, haha.
They need to feel like what's "theirs" is theirs only.

Neptune is always about ideals, though.
So they may have an idealistic view on how things "should be". Yep.

That sounds about right. Wouldn't Cancer be the Sign of one's childhood?

Well, Cancer rules the 4th house (IC - "Imum Coeli") and the IC rules early childhood and childhood environment, so.
Pretty sure the IC also rules the old age and the end of life (though all Water houses have that theme about them).

So with Poseidonas and Cancer prominent, could it be possible that they had either a victimized or ideal childhood? Just my thoughts.

You have to look at the condition of the IC - if it aspects Neptune or falls in Pisces, for example.
In that case, yes. Probably idealized.

But the thing with Neptune, is that it tends to make people idealize things / people even if reality was far from "good".

And Cancers are usually naturally nostalgic and tend to remember the "old days" through rose-colored glasses, so with Neptune in the mix, they probably glorify childhood and the careless days (I've known a lot of Cancers and most of them are fond of their childhood memories).

Yup plenty of people with cancer placements have oppositions with neptune.
A Cancer moon/mars opposite Neptune is gifted with keen instincts.
Neptune brings even more depth to the moon and bring seductive charm to mars.

Poseidonas is opposite the IC and sesquiquadrate Dimitra(1). When one looks at the angles, are oppositions generally considered challenging?

Well, if Neptune opposes the IC, it conjuncts the MC.
It's challenging in that the childhood may have been filled with an element of deceit, instability, or loss.
And that in turns affects the person's social standing and career - they may feel like an outsider, like they don't fit in and feel lost.

Okay, that makes sense
There's a square with Ares, and that's pretty much all there is. And this person really doesn't seem to have 'seductive charm'. SO in terms of the present, how would they be with their family?

Mars square Neptune usually have a problem with motivation - or more precisely, the lack of it.
They can seem a bit clueless about life, that is, until they find out what they're passionate about (usually something related to Neptune like art or something spiritual).

I can't tell you the condition of someone's "present" just based on a natal chart, though.

You can look into transits and see if something major is happening with the Moon, IC or ruler of the IC (related to family and the home). Transits like those usually indicate some problems with family members.

That sounds like the opposite. As far as I know, this person never had problems with motivation unlike me, except in my case, it's 4H and the IC as opposed to Cancer.

They probably have some supporting aspects to Mars, or some Fire?

Do you mean you have Neptune in the 4th?

No, he's opposite my IC and there's emphasis on my 4H. As for the other person, there's not a lot of Fire and a host of squares and semisquares to Ares.

I see.
So how do you experience your Neptune?

Squares to Mars are definitely energetic.

I experience Poseidonas through Spirituality (9H). I also happen to... somewhat... see society through rose-colored glasses, even though my head tells me otherwise, but I have this 'perfect world' planned out.

Ah, me too.
I have Neptune in the 9th, 9° away from the MC (I can actually relate to the Neptune / MC thing even though the orb is wide!).
I idealize spirituality but not society... at all.

I've always used 10 degrees for an orb.

That's quite rare.
Usually people use tighter orbs, like.. 6° or 5°.
But IME, wider orbs work, in natal charts at least.

That's a bit small. In most books I've read, eight is the most common orb, but ten is used for Angles and the Lights.

Sounds so Libran.
Oh wait, you're a Gemini.

Nice quote by the way.
