I have never understood this term.

What does an afflicted planet mean? Take my venus in Virgo 9th house for example. Would you call this an afflicted planet since it is in fall in Virgo. However, it has mainly positive aspects, trining jupiter in Taurus, sextile mars in scorpio, Inconjunct neptune in Aquarius and an out of sign square to my scorpio ascendant.

Would you call this an 'afflicted planet'?

I only consider a planet afflicted if it has hard aspects from other planets.
