How do things work out when there are conflicting aspects in synastry?.

For example, I have Mercury Square Mercury with someone but I also have a few other aspects including Neptune that talk about "total understanding and almost a telepathic level of comunication" with the same person.

What happens in such situations?.

There will still be conflict but you should be able to deal with it more effectively than if there were no supportive aspects.

you could look at the orb of each - the closer one might be most prominent in the relationship. or (for example) if the aspect is a square as opposed to a trine, a square might be felt more, or if Neptune is touching an outer planet instead of an inner one. so you can both 'conflicting' things, because both won't be felt the same way

Sometimes it can also be a conflict between nonverbal and verbal communication.

Like for example you "get" each other on a nonverbal level or maybe almost telepathic level, but as soon as you start to actualy verbalizing your thoughts, you might hit road-blocks ore simply misunderstand each other.

I never had a problem with mercury square mercury.
All it ever took was a little extra care in how I express myself.

Now, someone's mercury square my sun, that's a whole different story

The way you think isn't the same way the other person thinks, you both have different ways of comunicating, thinking and behaviour but yeah with neptune involved you can have a telepathic thing with the ither person, it doesn't matter if your mercurys are not well aspected you can think very different but still understanding the other person in no spoken levels
