What in a person's chart indicates that they tend to be very physically affectionate toward their SO? And what in synastry shows that most likely it will be mutual even if it's not typical for one of the partners?------------------

In the synastry, I think the usual ones: Venus-venus, venus-mars, venus-moon... in natal, Idk. I'm earth dominant and I'm physically affectionate, sometimes too much. IP: Logged |

I think that this one goes to Taurus and Cancer.Asc in Taurus/Cancer.
Moon in Taurus/Cancer.
Venus in Taurus/Cancer. Moon in 2nd/4th.
Venus in 2nd/4th. Venus aspecting the Moon by trine/sextile and conjunction. Even the opposition has its moments. I'd also look at the 2nd house for this. If the 2nd house is packed, the individual can be both possessive and affectionate. They want to touch, feel and physically "grab" what is "theirs". If the 4th house is packed,the individual thinks of security as pivotal and is likely to "mother"/"parent" the partner. Great list!  I can be very warm/affectionate when in love and I highly value it in relationships.
Its also very important for me that my potential partner possesses this quality too. I have: Cancer Moon/Mars
Asc ruler (Sun) in 2nd house
2nd house ruler (Mercury) in 2nd house
IC-ruler (Pluto) in 4th house
8th house co-ruler (Jupiter) in 4th house I think my Venus in Libra accounts for this too.
Synastry wise in my experience, aspects responsible for affectionate feelings would be:
* 2nd house/4th house/7th house overlays
* 2nd house/4th house/7th house ruler aspects
* Sun/Moon, Moon/Moon, Moon/Venus, Moon/Pluto, Venus/Venus, Venus/Mars, Venus/Neptune, Venus/Pluto. * Any of the above in the Composite/Davison, including planets in Pisces/12th house which I feel produces very warm, cozy, tender & soulful feelings between the two...  =) IP: Logged |

And leo! Some of the most affectionate people I've been with had some planets in leo… and also 5th house placement maybe? I have scorpio venus in 5th house, pisces moon and cancer rising, so I don't know which is the most affectionate trait, but together I'm super physical with my partner and need to touch, kiss, cuddle all the time:P
I think also having some nice jupiter aspects with venus, pluto, etc. makes me very expansive and inspire my partner to be as passionate as me… in that area I've never had a single problem with my SO  We also have venus-mars and moon-venus aspects IP: Logged |
