I seem to match up with the Hindu/lahri with whole house system nicely, Saturn 4th house opposite Mars 10th and Libra N.node/Venus 12th, thats where my want of peace comes from , i'm sticking with this for a while. ------------------ Inner Peace. IP: Logged |

I stayed away from Vedic at first because it seemed so negative and irrelevant. I didn't really care that having 3rd Lord in the 2nd house meant I would inherit my eldest uncle's donkey. I mean really. But, as I delved passed the fatalistic views (depends on the source) I noticed both Western and Vedic worked together as a team instead of two factions. The different charts seem to compliment each other. I went from 24 degrees Libra to 1st degree Libra in Vedic, but my boyfriend went from Leo to Cancer. Oh, do I feel the Libra/Cancer theme some times. Yikes! IP: Logged |

I love you. KRS in a T. I agree with you completely. I'm tired of western though. "its out of date, 13 signs, 14 signs, 42 constellations, 2000 years old, precision of the equinxoes, its seasons not constellations," Etc Etc. lol, i'm gonna see how i can progress with just the Vedic. The 10th Mars & Midheaven opposite the Saturn 4th says alot, i always like to show publicly & have a large deal of responsbility and coldness with home life .. ------------------ Inner Peace. IMO, yes, it fits me better than my Tropical Chart overall. But I use the Whole House System and Placidus Houses at the same time. For instance, my Uranus in Tropical is in the 6th House, and in the 7th in Vedic. I still relate to my Uranus in the 6th House, and the 7th House too because it gets rid of my Aquarius 7th from Tropical and replaces it with a Capricorn 7th. So Uranus goes into the 7th, which can act like a Aquarius 7th House. So I use both houses for the planets. Vedcic also uses the house cusps. It's called the Bhava Chalit Chart. It's usually the same houses as Placidus. IP: Logged |

The only thing about Vedic I don't agree with is not recognizing the influences of Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. I've posted some childhood stories here years ago and I am damn sure that Venus does indeed conjunct Neptune, not just the POF! Neptune's influence was profoundly felt! And, if I only had Sun in Libra in the 2nd, I bet my financial life would have been a lot smoother. Trust me, to dismiss Pluto and Uranus in Libra in the 2nd would be idiotic. As if I don't know my own life! Not to say I can't turn things around, I'm just saying... IP: Logged |

You can still use Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. It's just that they don't want to use it because they prefer keeping it simple and structured with the traditional rulers. That won't affect the planets though because they are still there. I mean, I even use Vulcan and Earth in Vedic, lol. IP: Logged |

I use Earth as the modern ruler of Taurus. While Venus is Taurus's co-ruler. And I use Venus as Libra's only ruler. IP: Logged |

Hmm this site seems to use the western zodiac traits and call it vedic. This site is lazy and I am nothing like a western taurus and taurus is nothing like a western aries.. In Vedic astrology feminine signs are outgoing and masculine signs are reserved... everything is opposite. This is why I use western astrology there's not much difference. You call your self a gemini instead of a taurus.. same goes for vedic, IP: Logged |

Notice the differencemercury in taurus quote: Your manner of thought and speech is slow and quite deliberate. You do not change your mind quickly and see no reason to do so. You are determined, practical, methodical, and conservative in most things you do. You have patience and the ability to stick with things until the end. You may assimilate material at a slower pace than others, but once a concept is learned, it is never forgotten. You hate being forced or rushed into a decision or an action, especially if you have not been given time to think it all through and evaluate the practicalities of the situation. Once your mind is made up, that's it. It will take a lot to undo it. Perseverance is one of your best traits. You enjoy sustaining what others have started, especially if you can see tangible, practical results. You love to build things. You succeed not so much because of your mental brilliance, but because you have the ability to concentrate and follow a project through to its completion. You may have an artistic or musical aptitude. Perhaps you sing or speak for a living. Common sense is not uncommon in you.
quote: Good position for acquisition of capital wealth and enjoyment of sensual pleasure through communications behaviors, such as media production, conversations and messaging.Depends largely on role of Venus. Sensual, soft, and pleasant speech. Avoids communicative conflict; likes to use a loving, sensually descriptive vocabulary. Likes to think about beautiful faces, teeth, eyes, mouths; fine art and art collections, delights of music; wealth, knowledge, hoards of stored value, love and pleasures. Good placement for song-writers, wine-tasters, and any profession concerned to discuss matters of love, wealth, sensual pleasures, art, music and beauty. Prefers the vocabulary of aesthetic values, taste, touch and smell; love and sensual experience. Likes to think about (Budha) money, luxury, sensual pleasures, ancient knowledge, languages, capital accumulation, acquisition of goods, collections, banking, stored wealth and hoards of every description. Should Mercury be in Taurus, the native will be skillful, eminently liberal, be famous, will have knowledge of Vedas and Shastras, be fond of exercises, robes, ornaments and garlands, be firm in disposition, will have sincerely earned wealth, will be a soft and sweet speaker, and be after sexual satisfaction."
The actually vedic description never said mercury in taurus was stubborn and slow paced.
