I won't ask when 'cause this a part of predicting astrology, but you can write anything related.

The 7th house is meant to indicate this... By looking at the sign on the cusp of the 7th house, the 7th house ruler by sign, house, and aspect, and of course planets in the 7th house.

The 7th house can describe how we'll meet our spouse, the characteristics of our spouse, and the nature of our relationship with them.

Here's another less used tip.

The house in our chart ruled by the sign Libra can also say something about how we'll first encounter our spouse.

In my chart Libra rules the 11th house of group involvement. That means I'm likely to meet my spouse in a group or organization that I belong to.

So, what if you have a very busy seventh house with it's ruler also in a state of complication. I interpret that is meaning the person will have many relationships throughout their lives, are more into being with people than average, very extroverted.

Hmm, I met my 1st husband online. 7th house ruler is Venus in 1st house. Libra takes my 12th house... Online and web is more like about 11th house or Aquarius (Uranus), no?

I associate 7th house with contractual partnerships, not love.
Adopting animals together, purchasing property together, marriage, etc.

I see people with prominent 7th house less extroverted than 5th housers.
Most of them seem very serious minded about life.
There needs to be formality and rules etc.
If you've ever read the description for 7th house ruler in it's own house.
The quintessential lawyer-politician type.

5th house is more about love and romantic relationships
The people we do not formally settle down with but did love at some point.

Pretty much what Lotis White said. You can use it on the 5th and 8th house too i suppose.

For the 7th house, my sign is in Gemini. It points to the 3th house. The house ruler of Gemini is Mercury which is in my 9th house.
But i don't understand how planets aspecting to 7th house link.

1st house - this house is all about you so it is likely you will meet your partner through
your own efforts to go out and find them.

2nd house – this house is about what you value and it is likely you will meet your
partner while shopping, sorting out your finances or out in the countryside.

3rd house - this house is about communication and it is likely you will meet your partner
through your early school life, on routine journeys, through your siblings or neighbours.

4th house - this house is all about your home and it is likely you will meet your partner
through your home life or your parents, especially your mother.

5th house - this house is about having fun and it is likely you will meet your partner on
holiday, at places of entertainment, or through sport.

6th house - this house is about service and it is likely you will meet your partner through
your everyday work, hobbies or in the armed forces.

7th house - this house is about partnerships and it is likely you will meet your partner at
a wedding or through your business partnerships.

8th house - this house is about money and all things hidden so it is likely you will meet
your partner through looking after other people’s money or the occult.

9th house - this house is about expansion (physical, mental and spiritual) and it is likely
you will meet your partner through higher education, long-distance travel, dreams or
religion.

10th house - this house is about your position in life and it is likely you will meet your
partner through your career or your father.

11th house - this house is about community and it is likely you will meet your partner
through your social life, parties or your friends.

12th house - this house is about seclusion and it is likely you will meet your partner
through spiritual matters, quiet places or visiting hospital.

Hi kerosene,

Yeah, I definitely agree that the 7th house is more formalized then the 5th house. The 7th house likes official agreements, and security.

Howeve, I've also noticed that the 7th house active in synastry can mean having warm, gooy, affection or liking for somebody... This person has the type of energy that we like to just 'be' around... We want them as our partner (and not some other random person) because we LIKE them as a person and find them interesting.

Please keep in mind that I'm thinking about romantic attachments here, but friendships and business partners can be a 7th house thing too. We usually like our friends, and it's preferable to like a business partner. Bad synastry involving the 7th can turn things sour. In an ideal situation though, we're more inclined to feel affectionately towards our 7th house established partners.

The 5th house rules the honeymoon phase of the relationship, when a couple meets and falls in-love... It's the house of playful flirting and grand passion. In this phase we're amazed by our love interest, want to do a big song and dance about them, and are super impressed with who they are. The love interest may be put on a pedestal, or over idealized during this phase. This part of the relationship is about how romantic sparks and attraction develop, and how someone first stands out to us as special. The courtship phase has an element of risk and suspense attached to it... Maybe the love interest will eventually want to settle with us, or maybe they'll change their minds. Security is not a focus of the 5th house. Rather, in the 5th we identify if someone attracts us, and immerse ourselves in getting to know the other person, and their life-story, to decide how and if we want to proceed.

The 7th house is the phase in the relationship after the honeymoon phase. Here we choose to stay with a particular person not just because being with them is new and exciting experience, but we also like them, and enjoy their companionship. And not always just in a platonic/friendship way either. Remember the 7th house is the 'Venus' house. The 7th house shows who we have a soft spot for, who can charm us, and inspire us to want to hug and kiss them. Ideally we'll feel this way about our partner, even if we've been together for a long time. The 7th house also has a lot to due with our concepts of beauty, and what type of behavior fits our idea of attractive. The 7th house is about just plain liking someone and being drawn toward them... Venus and the 7th house magnetize us.

In synastry the 5th house will add a lasting element of being impressed with the partner, adoring them, and a playful/flirty vibe over long periods of time. People influencing our 5th just turn us on... And I mean psychologically, and emotionally too, not just the physical. This house is FUN and EXCITING.

In synastry the 7th house will add a lasting element of warmth and liking, as well as a desire to want to be physically affectionate towards the partner, to be considerate of them. The thing that the 7th house adds in a relationship, that the 5th does not, is the feeling that the person you're with is the 'right fit' for a lasting commitment. The 5th house in synastry can indicate being 'in love' but it'll still feel like something is missing in a long-term relationship if the love interest doesn't connect to our 7th house in some way. You can be attracted to someone and still feel they're not right for you. The 7th house in synastry adds that feeling of 'rightness'. Not just in a rational, contract-making kind of way, but also on an emotional/intuitive level. We can just 'feel' it in our gut if a love interest could truly be our life partner or not... If they have that right personality type that magnetizes us, and makes us just want to be with them.

Personally, I like both 5th house and the 7th house in synastry. Not just overlays but house-ruler aspects as well. And symbolism matches (Example, having Jupiter in the 7th and marrying a Sagittarius).

It works best if both a present in synastry (the 8th house too).

For me 5th house never worked, none of my boyfriends had a placement in Cancer. It always has to do with my 7th house in Virgo. All of the men I fell in love crazily had at least one placement in Virgo...

Then you look at the rulers of those empty houses, where they are located and what aspects are made to them

You will meet your partner in the house matters where the ruler of your 7th house falls.

In the house where Libra falls can also be a possibility.

In synastry though, it's not just house overlays (planets in houses) that count.

You'd look at where you're Moon is by sign, house, and aspect, for your own chart. And for your partner you look at how you partner aspects your Moon. If the partner doesn't aspect your Moon, maybe they have the sign of your Moon strong in their chart, or the house of your Moon strong in their chart... These are symbolism matches.

On another note, I've noticed that some people tend to gravitate towards one or two of the three love houses in their charts more then the other ones, in terms of the personality of the partner they pick. The three love houses being the 5th, 7th, 8th houses. I guess it depends on how a persons chart is set-up. Usually a significant relationship will involve a synastry connection to all three of these houses though. Either through overlays, synastry aspects to the ruler of the house in question, or some type of symbolism match (The planets and signs in or ruling that house strong in the partner's chart).
