I am curious as to what planet should be considered as the ruler of this ascendant.Pluto is obviously a slow moving planet and if two ascendants had scorpio rising, relatively they'd have pluto in same house What about mars? I am scorpio rising with mars also in scorpio in 11th house. Curious to hear your thoughts IP: Logged |

Wow, this is the THIRD thread asking this exact same thing! Pluto.
Mars is a co-ruler if you wanna be technical.
But Pluto remains the big boss for Scorpio risers.

Hi DouxRêve! Yes, and one of that persons was me M.blade, as DouxRêve said i see mars as a co-ruler too, but i don't know in what ways it works in a scorpio rising because i feel pluto much more than mars. For example my mars is in aries, one thing i can say is that gives me a lot of energy, a friend of mine has scorpio rising pluto in scorpio mars in cancer....and in some ways i find that mars is softer....and my pluto is in scorpio, pluto it's almost the only planet for a scorpio i think it affects a lot, where is your mars and pluto?? And what do you think??IP: Logged |

Pluto is the ruler & Mars is the Co-ruler, though alot of astrologers are calling Mars the ruler.------------------ Inner Peace. ☾ ♐ ☉ ♏ IP: Logged |

Yes....generational but it is the ruler of scorpio, all the stuff related to the sign of scorpio is much more plutonian and profound, and don't forget scorpio is water, it's not the same effect that mars has in aries, mars rules aries, aries is fire. It's the same with pisces, neptune rules pisces and jupiter is the co-ruler, pisces is neptune, i have no doubt, like scorpio is pluto but have that co-ruler, then, it depends how your chart look, because for example maybe a scorpio with mars in first house can feel more that effect, but that not denies pluto is the one and only ruler. Just my thoughts. I do have Scorpio rising and Pluto is in my 12th house, Mars is in my 1st house (Scorpio). As you might know ASC ruler shows the general meaning of your life, why you have born into this world, and for me I feel it is 100% Pluto. Since I remember myself it has been the main issue during my whole life to search deeper meaning of my life, my soul and wanted myself to change, transform my inner world and to work with my subconcios mind to make my life and life around me better and brighter. I simply can not connect my life meaning with Mars in 1st. Mars is more like a tool or way how to act and not the main issue of my current lifetime. Pluto in 1st transforms your concious mind and you act transforming to the world. You must change something around starting from yourself. This is how I see it, I'm not professional astrologer. There is definately much more to say about it. This is a serious Pluto possition. You have got a big and deep power. Why don't you want to accept it. Mars is much more boring IP: Logged |

I would use Pluto mostly, and Mars as a back up. ------------------ http://www.lightofthestars.com Every Chart has a Gift IP: Logged |

Oh it's Mars too. I don't know much about rulers but I'd choose Pluto just for the sake of individuality.IP: Logged |

Charge - Mars in day form rules Aries and in night form rules Scorpio.I look at both Mars and Pluto for Scorpio but truly, I thinking it is Mars. The outer planets are too impersonal I believe. IP: Logged |

May Day and night births contradict this? For example, someone with a night birth may look to mars as their ruler whereas people born in day look to pluto. It confuses me how pluto is prime ruler considering it's so generational People with scorpio asc in my gen would all have it in sag. Doesn't make sense IP: Logged |

No, in traditional astrology, Mars rules Aries ("day" ruler) and it rules Scorpio ("night" ruler) - I don't think it actually has anything to do with actual day or night, it's more like an image: day - light, open air, the energy is direct and straightforward. VS night - dark, hidden, 'underground' type of thing, it's less direct and more subtle.
Now, Pluto was discovered in 1930 so its conscious "effect" is very recent, but it was assigned to Scorpio precisely because it doesn't operate in a direct "in your face" manner. It stays behind the scenes and observes before taking action. Aries / Mars are more openly aggressive and straightforward in nature. Pluto is a generational planet but it becomes "personal" in every chart simply because it has a house and aspects different from other people. So your Pluto, while in Sag, is very unique (house, degree, aspects) and therefore not generational, when applied to a specific chart. It's your chart ruler and its characteristics should define your personality considerably. You can still use Mars but I wouldn't consider it a primary influence - it's subordinate to Pluto. My 2 cents.
