For a tight conjunction, 6 months isn't exactly a generation.IP: Logged |

It's not particularly strong unless a personal planet, luminaries, conjunct to activate it.I have moon conjunct Algol and am not planning on visiting Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria anytime soon. I am too worried about beheadings. Algol, supposedly, has a connection to them. IP: Logged |

From what I've read, fixed stars only work if it's a conjunction, oppositions don't count. Plus, it's an outer planet so (like other people have said) it's not important in the way a conjunction with an inner planet would be. With Neptune I wouldn't even use it unless it was in very, very tight orb.I have my ASC conjunct Algol... I'm not sure how it affects me, except that people find me to be odd and dark and that's not typical for a Taurus Ascendant. IP: Logged |

So you feel more like a Scorpio ascendant rather than Taurus?

I've just started my interest/investigation of fixed stars and am finding much contradictory information. What...astrologers don't all agree with each other?!?!For the time being I'll stick with conjunctions, but won't rule out oppositions. Some use squares and trines, but I don't think that'll be a worthwhile avenue. With a fixed star I would have always thought to work within a 1 degree orb, but I see some use within 3 degrees with significant stars like Algol. I've seen some use 5 degrees, but I can't take that seriously. Anyway, I picked on the Neptune-Algol opposition since it's very tight, even though Neptune is transpersonal. If I were to allow up to 3 degrees, then Algol would conjunct my MC. In any event, it turns out the Pleiades conjunct my MC within a degree. Deneb also conjuncts my DSC within a degree. It's interesting that whenever I look at the night sky, the summer triangle is the first thing I see. There are a whole mess of stars that make conjunctions to personal planets, but I'm feeling that the meaning has been lost to antiquity. One would really have to delve into ancient Greek astronomy...perhaps Hindu & Arabic as well. IP: Logged |

Sometimes I think Algol is nothing but the star of aliens so if you have a personal planet or light conjunct it, you are simply a being visiting this planet from another one far, far away. But seriously: http://darkstarastrology.com/pleiades/ IP: Logged |

In Chinese mythology Deneb is associated with the story of the Celestial Princess or the Weaver Girl. In this story a Girl (the star Vega) is separated from her beloved (a cowherd represented by the star Altair) by the Milky Way. Once a year, the girl and the cowherd are allowed to meet briefly when a large flock of magpies form a bridge across the starry river. Deneb represents the bridge.IP: Logged |

No, not really, but I do identify a lot with the some of the descriptions of Pluto conjunct ASC... not the physical description stuff, the parts about the way other people perceive you. I also feel like most of the descriptions of Taurus ASC don't sound like me at all, although I do identify more with descriptions of the Taurus/Gem cusp. With Saturn opposite ASC it's not surprising that people see me as serious but that doesn't explain why they also find me dark and/or unsettling a lot of the time. So I think that maybe that's Algol's influence. IP: Logged |

I have similar experiences. Kinda Scorpionic. I have a progressed Scorpio ascendant and Algol in the eighth.

That's interesting... I think it must be really important what sign our ASC has progressed into. I wish I knew more about progressions. I've had a prog Gemini ASC since I was a toddler and I really do feel like I seem far more like a Gem ASC than I do like a Taurus ASC. Generally my Ascendant is odd and I think maybe afflicted.
