I read somewhere that the love planet of taurus is pluto and that of libra is mars, my sun is libra and his taurus, in synastry we have pluto opposing mars (his mars my pluto) is this significant?

That's probably based on the theory of opposites: Taurus' opposite is Scorpio ruled by Pluto and Libra's opposite is Aries ruled by Mars.

Can't comment on it further, though.

Mars opposite Pluto could definitely create some intense attraction, oooh yeah.
