When it comes to any of life’s issues, I think we have to factor in the nodal axis and where the sun’s, moon’s and planets’ placements are located along this axis… namely because where they are placed can show which chakras they’ll activate and whether it’s emissive or receptive (at least from one perspective; there are other schools of thought—like Carolyn Myss—who set up astrology and the chakras differently). Thoughts?

How do you know if they're emissive or receptive?
Interesting theory, I've never heard of it before, so apologies for the ignoranct comment.

Well, speaking in terms of the nodal axis and not the polarity of a sign, a planet will be emissive if it's on the left-hand side of the axis and receptive if it's on the right hand side.

I have Moon and Venus conjunct my South Node, and Mars squaring them. What would you say about that?

That means most of my planets are receptive... hm.

teasel,

12hhouser's theory aside, what it tells me about you is that you're a very loving, caring and tender individual (Moon/Venus/SN) but you face challenges related to others', or your own, (lack?) of assertiveness or aggression, and maybe a lack of motivation, energy and drive. Mars is your 'skipped step' and could be challenging to use in a positive way, so you should focus on it and work on it! <3

My Mars, Mercury, and Venus are all emmissive then. Hmmmm! And my Sun is conjunct NN tightly but happens to be conjunct from the right. OH WELL.
