Am I able to get a pretty accurate chart reading without knowing my exact, down-to-the-minute birth time? My mother was able to let me know that it was around 10am. With that, I looked up my natal chart, and my calculated ascendant is Cancer. That fits me to a ridiculously accurate T, so I am pretty sure that Cancer really is my rising sign. I am really wanting to look at my chart to see if I can get any guidance on what kind of career to pursue, as I am currently totally lost and miserable in that aspect. Will I be able to get pretty accurate information with an approximate birth time? Thanks for your help. IP: Logged |

Hi, Greygirl, welcome to LL! Yes, 10 am sounds... okay. Not too accurate, but more precise than "in the morning", haha.
The house cusps may not be exactly accurate but you should be able to get most placements right, I think. IP: Logged |

Thanks so much for the welcome! And for your reply too! Are house cusps quite important to know when interpreting one's chart?

You're welcome.Yes, they are important. But usually when you have at least an approximative time, it's pretty easy to see what fits and what doesn't - the planets in the houses are usually hard to "miss". So if for example, your current shows that you have Pluto at the end of the 5H, but you absolutely cannot relate to it, then you were probably born a little bit earlier, when Pluto was in the 6H. Something like that. The actual sign of the cusp of a house is very important, because the sign of a house sets the "ruler" of the house. IP: Logged |

Ahh, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying, this will help when I take a look at my chart. IP: Logged |
