I don't know my down to the minute birth time, but my mother told me that it was some time around 10am. I looked up my natal chart for 10am, and Cancer Rising fits me to an absolute T. However, some of the planets in the houses and the descriptions seemed rather off (not descriptive of myself). While doing a board search, I read that one can usually get a better idea of house placements in a natal chart by looking at which house the moon is in. So, I've looked at descriptions of my moon in the house before and after the current approximate birth time I have, and the moon placement about an hour before seems to fit me considerably more. Would it be fair to consider 8:45am a more accurate birth time for me? Am I going about this the right way? Are there other ways that I can better approximate my birth time, instead of going to a pro astrologer and paying $$$ for chart rectification? Thanks for reading. IP: Logged |

10am versus 8:45am sounds like a stretch... I don't think there's a way to be sure without having your chart rectified by an astrologer.
It'll always be speculation either way... IP: Logged |

Couldn't you just order a copy of your birth certificate? That couldn't be more expensive than paying for a rectification. IP: Logged |

She wasn't very sure of the time, just that it was some time around 10am, but that she could be, in her words, off by a couple of hours. Thanks for your reply just the same!

Unfortunately I wasn't born in a place where it's easy for me to obtain a birth certificate now. Are chart retifications best done in person? IP: Logged |

Oh, I see.Well, good luck with finding out your chart! One thing you can do is: pay attention to the transiting planets and try to see if they create some significant changes (either externally or internally). For example: take Saturn, and watch for any aspects it may make to your Moon (since you're not sure of its position in your natal chart) and also pay attention to the HOUSE Saturn is in. If you feel a significant "shift" in energies, it's probably because a transiting planet changed houses in your natal chart. It's not an easy process but start with getting the chart you think is more accurate and then go from there, use it as a base and follow the transits // events in your life. And you're welcome! Oh and you can use transiting Moon for that as well.Usually, tMoon in natal Water houses is felt deeply (at least for me, haha) - you could get more moody or sentimental during the times when transiting Moon travels through your 8th and 12th houses (and sometimes 4th). Try to see a pattern in your moods... see if they seem to change with the transits of the Moon // your houses. Hope that gives you some ideas... best of luck.
And you can always ask for a rectification to an astrologer of course. It could be better to do it in person so they can see what ASC you're most likely to be based on your appearance / mannerisms and maybe pick up on other astrological energies of your chart.
