What house do you think shows children if not the 5th? The 4th maybe?

My 5th house is a bit of a conundrum. My best outlets involve playing with my son and photography. Playing is easy, and photography is enjoyable but I often don't have time for it right now. I paint occasionally, but my stupid Virgo Moon won't shut up long enough for me to really create much on canvass. Sports are good for me as well, as I have Sag in 5th. The best thing about my 5th house is that Neptune in Sag is there, and is in mutual reception with my Pisces Jupiter in 8th. There's a nice flow there that makes my T-square a little easier to deal with. I dunno, what type of creative outlet are you drawn to? I recall you mentioning some, but are there other potential outlets you haven't brought up yet? IP: Logged |

Apart from photography I'm drawn to music, dance (inventing choreographies is creative I think?), writing short stories (used to do it but my Virgo AC is a pain in the ass). I've been very curious about carving lately, in ice and crystals to be more exact. But that would be rather difficult to organize. I feel I'd enjoy making gem jewelry too. I'm jealous of your painting skills ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

One of my favorite houses! The 5th house describes the things and people that awe and impress us big time, and how we in turn express our energy when we're passionately inspired by something... A creative project, a love interest, your child that you adore... Basically anything we have dedicated our heart to. From my observation the essence of the 5th house is about how we GIVE our attention and energy, and what inspires us to do so. This is the house where we pick favorites, and do a big song and dance about why we favor things and people that we do. In the 11th house, opposite the 5th, we're on the receiving end of other people's attention (the group, people surrounding us in general) and we're able to be more objective in our perceptions. Our general popularity amongst our fellow human beings in indicated by the symbolism of our 11th house. And when people positively aspect our 11th house ruler or planets, they as individuals can makes us feel ‘popular’ even if our natal 11th house is pretty shabby. Conversely… The 5th house is shamelessly biased, and will interpret certain things and people as more important or precious then others. The 5th / 11th house Axis is about performance/self-expression/ giving attention Vs receiving attention/ getting a response from our audience & peers/ and evaluating that response. It’s also about favoritism Vs objectivity. The symbolism of the 5th house in our natal chart tells the context of how we fall in love, who we adore, and what types of things strike us as SPECIAL about others. The 5th house is where we idealize others, and put them on a pedestal (And if we have planets in the 5th house, we may be ‘in-love‘ with certain aspects of our selves, like a Leo. Lol). This is how the concept of ROMANCE (in both a poetic sense, and a relationship sense) is associated with the 5th house. People who aspect our 5th house ruler, or fill up our 5th house, fascinate us with the saga of who they are, and we tend to view them in a glorious light. They might be Joe or Joanne average, but to us they’d be like the lead in our favorite story, or a personal celebrity. This can happen in both platonic and love relationships. If the rest of the synastry does indicate any kind of attraction, as in there are aspects like Sun/Moon, Mars/Venus and so on in the synastry, then synastry connections to the natal 5th house certainly do generate powerful attractions in love relationships. My basic formula is… Physical Attraction Interplanetary Aspects + 5th, 7th and 8th house Synastry = Strong Romantic Sparks They say that the Sun symbolizes the father, and since the Sun and the 5th house have the same theme, it makes sense that the 5th house will say something about the father too. In a healthy family situation most young kids are impressed and somewhat awed by their Dad, and often he may be our first ‘hero’. Both Saturn and the Sun relate to our experience of having a father. Saturn/10th house is the stern authority figure that teaches us rules, the Sun/5th is the fun Dad that you adore. Interestingly, in my chart I’ve got Sun in the 1st house and Aries on the 5th house cusp, and my father was an Aries. Aries is associated with the 1st house and the notion of ‘persona’, and it’s true that people with distinctive personalities do impress me. I’m also really impressed with fiery characteristics like courage and daring. In terms of romantic attractions I’m often drawn to those that have a planet or two in Aries. And I find that I’m inspired to be more daring then usual myself when acting toward someone that impresses me. I’m a Capricorn with moon in Cancer, and a stellium in Sagittarius. Most of the time I’m not particularly ‘daring’ by any stretch of the imagination. But when I develop a passion for a particular topic or person, that inspires me to step out of my comfort zone and do something more daring then I otherwise would. The 5th house can be subtle like this. Because what constitutes as ‘daring’ changes from one person to another. For a very shy person, being more 'daring' might mean just actually getting up the nerve to talk to the person that you have you eye on in a more direct way then usual. For a generally outgoing person, being more ‘daring’ might mean something way more extreme. The crux of what I’m getting at is that the 5th house shows our general approach to expressing favor and adoration. The attitude is...‘Because you’re special, I’m willing to be more… (insert symbolism of your 5th house)... in my way of relating to you’. If you have Capricorn on the 5th, rather then being more daring then usual, you might actually be inclined to be more careful then usual, when approaching a love interest. Again this is relative. A person with a lot of fire in their chart will interpret what constitutes ‘being careful’ differently then a person who has a lot of water in their chart. This could mean the difference between being inspired to be somewhat careful when approaching a love interest, and being inspired to be extremely careful when approaching a love interest. When looking at our 5th house, in terms of how we express favor and adoration, we can compare it to the rest of our natal chart. Then we can say ‘I will express my 5th house characteristics/symbolism more then USUAL when approaching a love interest‘. And, how much a person usually expresses those characteristics will be relative from natal chart to natal chart. Interpreting house symbolism is like this in general. We might not be a very Gemini-like person at all, but if we have Gemini on the 6th house cusp we’ll be more communicative and talkative then usual at work, relative to how we are in other areas of life.

I love the idea of making mosaics for some reason, but I've never gotten around to it. Also, revamping vintage furniture that isn't worth considering as an antique, and using bright, contrasting colors to make it look nifty. I make a few things like candles and homemade tinctures with herbs and oils and things like that, but I don't know if that has much to do with my 5th...maybe, but it seems more like a 4th thing to me. It's kind of a domestic hobby (your favorite, ha). IP: Logged |

i like 5th house. my aries in mars is in it. i'm not afraid to date. i will try and try again until i find the right guy. but sometimes i talk a very long, detailed time to figure out who i will date next w/ my venus/saturn opposition. i have pisces on my 5th house cusp and i idealize dating. it's fun though i thought 5th house was for dating and children?
if it's for creativity that would make sense, too. i am pretty good at attacking creative projects at work, etc. IP: Logged |

I think the 5th house is supposed to be associated with creativity, romance, and children/family (Leo-ish stuff, I suppose). But to make Cappy's thread more...Cappy-ish, we're trying to focus on the creativity aspect of it. IP: Logged |

I saw the vedic interpretation that jupiter in 5th indicates one is creative and the aspect is beneficial for higher learning. But because jupiter is in the house of the sun and not it's own house (9th), the person might be denied of children; or they might get children through other means (adoption and such). I'm young so I'm not concerned about it yet, but I'm not interested in marriage tbh IP: Logged |

I haven't heard that. I am a fan of the ninth house sun though. I have POF in the ninth. IP: Logged |

I have Jupiter in Taurus in the 5th house and since Jupiter is my chart ruler, its placement is significant. I like to think that my creativity is one of my greatest assets, and I try to inject a bit of fun and/or humour into everything that I do.Maybe that's also where my "Go big or go home" mentality comes from. 5th house in Pisces with Jupiter here. This should be one of the best houses and placements of my natal chart with a lot of luck and stuff but its totally the opposite. Purely bad luck, disappointments and I am not sure about kids.IP: Logged |
