I'm wondering this, because I have Mercury opposite my AC, and the signs that square those two placements are just...some of the worst experiences I've had with people. It probably doesn't even have to be their Sun, it could be other placements as well (AC, for example).I mean, there are exceptions, of course. But I assume that the hard aspects are missing or compensated for in those cases. Does everyone have this thing with Mercury, or is it just my Gemini SN trying to teach me how to overcome communication issues? There seems to be a theme with difficult Mercury aspects with other people in my life, and I have to look at it and think "Am I supposed to be learning something from this...?" IP: Logged |

I think it's specific for you. My mercury square my ASC and pluto (t-square) so I can't tell much. I mean I don't always get along with them but most of the time, I'm fineIP: Logged |

Hm. I was wondering if maybe it was the double whammy of having someone's AC or Sun square both my AC AND my Mercury, but when there's a hard aspect (my Mercury or someone else's) from most planets, I can't stand talking to them and they're just really creepy for me to be around.Although...my husband's Sun is opposite my Mercury, and his Mercury is square my Sun. But his Sun is also conjunct my AC, and his Mercury is conjunct my SN (along with other good aspects in our charts). We argue, but we get over it quickly. Other people with hard Mercury synastry for me...not at all. Even if we like certain aspects about each other's personalities, there's just that underlying feeling of "Oh my gawd, we cannot possibly grind our teeth any harder to avoid saying something unpleasant." WTF...? Is it my Gemini SN trying to tell me something?! IP: Logged |

I wonder if my Mercury conjunct DC and Part of Fortune has something to do with that... IP: Logged |

I like anything square my Merc which would be Aries or Libra. Aries/Libra is my Sun-Moon midpoint. Since I was 12 or so Libra has been the most prominent in my life. Mostly as friends. Aries as lovers. I have Pluto in Libra and Sappho/Lilith in Aries. IP: Logged |

Still wondering if the conjunctions have anything to do with it. Just DC and POF. And Gemini SN, representing communication stuff.I find hard Mercury aspects with most planets *really* irritating in general, whether I'm the Mercury or the other planet. There have to be some really awesome compensating aspects to make that easier to deal with. But...now that it's been mentioned, the hard Mercury aspects that are the most irksome for me are cardinal and fixed placements. Hunh. IP: Logged |

Well.... My best friends moon squares my Mercury. (and mars) But then again our moons conjunct. Which also means, my own moon squares mercury and in a lot of ways I'm not too fond of myself. Looking through the synastry charts of people I know. It seems to be a mixed bag really. Even with myself. Sometimes, and continuously in some ways, I'm EXTREMELY hard on myself. Other times, and in other ways... I'm not. It definitely creates difficulty a lot I think. Unless their moon conjuncts mine apparently. IP: Logged |

Same as Violets, I have Aquarius Mercury close to my DSC. I like early Scorpios and early Taurus people, though when I tried dating men born then, it was a failure. I liked them, but they kept making assumptions about me that were so far off the beam, I got exhausted just thinking of all the "rehabilitation" our relationship would need in order for us to simply make sense to each other. You were just asking about the squares, but I'll add that my husband's early Leo sun is opposite my Mercury. Which means his sun is closely trine my Venus, which gives us an advantage. IP: Logged |

Ah...but you have a Pisces AC, don't you (unless I got confused with your placements). I wonder if their Sun/Mercury might square your AC? IP: Logged |

Are we living parallel lives?! It's funny that we have so many similar placements and we're both married to early(ish) Leos. IP: Logged |

Never thought about that, but it makes sense! I have a saggy Sun/Mercury Virgo Moon Ive always wondered why i couldn't be around Virgo Suns even ones that conjunct my Moon without feeling stifled and stressed out by them, they are supposed to make a soulmate aspect to me... If they square my mercury, i would be left feeling misunderstood and not able to communicate freely! Maybe if they conjunct my Moon in the later degrees so they dont make an aspect to my Mercury it would work.. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I've noticed that as long as their AC or Sun isn't aspecting my Mercury/DC or AC, it's a little easier. I have a couple of good friends who are the signs that I often clash with, and they're awesome. But yeah, no Mercury aspects, haha. Sometimes, I can have hard Mercury aspects with people but there are enough loving aspects that it doesn't bother us too much. My dad and I are like that, and my husband and I as well.
