Hey all! I know we've written about aspects that lend to singing ability in the past, but it's been a while, and I'd like a new scope of what have seen in our findings.

The most common thread I can find in natural singing ability is Mercury in the mutable signs of Gemini, This theory makes sense - makes the voice able to take on many forms. It's also Mercury's Dignity/Detriment/Exaltation/Fall Grand-Cross.

Strong 2nd and 3rd House also seem prominent. And interestingly,

And while Mercury/Neptune is all too often made synonymous with vocal ability, I feel Moon/Mercury gets slighted although it's very often found in the charts of many vocalists, particularly successful opera singers.

Anyhow, let me know what you think! :-)

I have mercury in Gemini conjunct moon and Venus. My voice is okay, not a powerhouse. Just very melodic. If I wanted to be a musician maybe something Xx crystal castles grimes Lana del rey

I don't have anything in my 2nd or 3rd house (Cancer and Leo)

I have Mercury in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini, and Mars conj. Gemini ASC though. Mars could be powerhouse? I also have Moon in the 11th opposition Pluto in the 5th (Moon is in Taurus, so there's a little Venusian influence there)

I sing really well for never having had training; vibrato and everything.

It sounds as though it would be very pretty. I wouldn't necessarily expect "powerhouse" vocals from such a seemingly "airy" combo - Venus probably refines it a lot. Out of curiosity, what degrees do they fall on? I have found 8-12 and 22-26 Gemini in a lot of charts.

Interesting! Moon in Taurus are usually noted for having natural musical ability, usually vocal. Think Christina Aguilera or Alicia Keys. It's a very earthy, sensual type of tone to the voice. Do you resonate with that?

I think taurus guys have nice attractive voices. Not sure about girls. But it doesn't mean they can sing.

My Mercury is in Aries. I have Uranus/Neptune conjunction in the 2nd house and a strong 3rd house with Saturn/Mars conjunction in Aquarius and an exalted Venus in Pisces conjunct the Fixed Star Fomalhaut. The ruler of both my 2nd and 3rd houses is a dignified Saturn in Aquarius. My Mercury sextiles Saturn and squares the Uranus/Neptune conjunction.

I sing pretty well, although I've never had vocal training classes or anything. I've always attributed this to my Venus in Pisces in the 3rd conjunct Fomalhaut, which is known for also giving some artistic talents.

Ha! So interesting. I think it's Fixed Star Aldebaran's influence that endows these degrees with gifts. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing! I think it's definitely Formalhaut at work, conjunct your exalted Venus. Such a beautiful, unique combination. Lucky you! I've found Fixed Stars (Aldebaran, Antares, Formalhaut and Regulus) to play a BIG role in vocal talent.

I didn't know they had Taurus moons! I can pull off some of Christina's songs, but the two artists I cover the most are Adele (Taurus Sun Sag Moon, Mercury on the cusp of Taurus / Gemini) and Lady Gaga (Aries Sun, Scorpio Moon, Mercury in Pisces. I have Mercury square Neptune and Saturn.) My voice is naturally lower than most women's.

In my view I couldn't sing in a bucket and don't like to think of it. It'd be neat if I could but I don't see it.

I can sing but I have a heavy feminine voice which applies better on classic rock songs rock and roll and a bit Amy Winehouse style but I don't claim to be a singer.

Have been told that I missed my calling. I don't agree as I can't stand my loss of solitude.

Libra with Double Taurus.

Mercury/Neptune/Mars in Libra/Scorpio (to Seventh House)

Sextiles

Venus/Pluto/Uranus/North Node in Leo/Virgo.(Fifth House Cusp)

I think they call it Boomerang when there's a Planet amidst.

This would be the Libra Sun. (Virgo's House)

Yes I can but my chart's energy is far too scattered to stick with it.
Venus gemini in 2nd
Sun/Jupiter in 3rd
Mercury quincunx Neptune

----------------------------------------------

Christina has Mercury conjunct Neptune
and of course several quintile aspects which point towards talent.
Moon bi-quintile Mercury
Moon bi-quintile Jupiter
Moon bi-quintile Saturn
Moon bi-quintile Uranus

Mercury quintile jupiter
Mercury quintile saturn
