Perhaps his predisposition to sexual routine? Also as a Venus Scorpio/Mars Leo person myself, I tend to like dominant partners who I can dominate from the bottom (sort of like the submissive who has all the control because he knows how to drive the dominant partner crazy). The Cancer/Taurus combo may also have a desire for someone else to occasionally take the wheel.

Another theory could be that Leo Mars can put on a persona and Scorpio Venus will hide behind that persona to keep their vulnerability from falling into the wrong hands. Cancer seeks to understand people's comfort zones and Taurus's archetype doesn't tend to push the envelope, rather, they can sort of just accept things as they are handed to them. This can be a problem with Scorpio/Leo, as some feel cherished when people make an effort to seek them out and uncover what dwells behind the smoke and perfume. We can feel really special when our partner wants to explore us on all levels, or "come find us in our tower".

If any of this rings a bell then it's likely you just need to train him. Mars in Taurus is kinky and super eager to try anything pleasing to the senses. Venus in Cancer is blessed with a lot of romantic imagination when comfortable too, so both can make a really awesome combo. Perhaps he just needs someone to bring that out in him. =)

The slump may just be a matter of him thinking your sex life is sufficient, because you haven't indicated otherwise and his Mars just sort of tosses the subject into the "This seems to be working" pile.

The Scorpio/Leo combo may have its issues, but we are sort of pleasure machines. We have the passion, drive, creativity, and genius of Leo and Scorpio lends us empathy, depth, and an ability to know exactly what the other person is feeling. If sex were a religion we would sort of be it's priests lol. You are inherently more capable of tuning him into a pro than he is capable of even knowing where to start. You are a complex beast who requires levels of closeness that non-Scorpio/Leos don't even know exist. Sadly with most guys, that means you need to come with instructions

I guess the big problem for me would be, if you initiate more adventurous romance, will he automatically default to you always being the initiator?

Something we Mars in Leo folks recognize a little late occasionally, is that if we want something, we need to ask for it. Just expecting that everyone has been paying so much attention to us they should automatically know what we need, rarely pays off. lol

If I were in your shoes, I would start slow and work him up to profession world rocker. Taurus is always a sucker for massage and licking food off people. You could even consider something as silly as truth or dare, just to get him thinking about what kind of stuff he would want to do if he were in a situation where he had to be creative.

Spending a day pampering him and treating him the way you want to be treated is a good way to introduce him to the idea of "Maybe I should be doing this too".

Or if you guys are a bit more advanced along the path than that, just have a debauchery month. 4 devoted nights (once a week), where you take turns planning the night with the intent of trying to outdo the previous week.
