I was thinking about this… they say a man's Moon sign describes his mother, women, etc. but could it very well describe his perception of women, or the influence he HAS over women? For example a man who has a Cancer moon may not attract very nurturing women at first but he nurtures them and therefore that trait rubs off thus producing a new, nurturing woman over time? I think all the stuff about the sun/moon representing the men/women we want or get is mostly bs. The moon is simply ones emotional nature. However I will say that you won't really see or feel a mans moon unless you are close to him.IP: Logged |

I think you're on the right track… I think the Sun and Moon don't firmly represent "the father and mother." I think we have people in our lives who play those roles, and THAT is who those planets represent. I also think while we are very much our sun sign, our personality is more connected to our moon sign. I read men's (well, people's really) moon signs way better than I do their ASC or Sun or Venus.IP: Logged |

Well from what I have seen it's usually easier to guess a guys sun sign and harder to see his moon sign. It's the exact opposite with women from what I have seen.. Women readily expose their moon sign. My mom is a good example of this , she is a Virgo sun with Aries moon and I sometimes forget she is a Virgo because her moon is what usually shows through in her personality.IP: Logged |

I agree with this. quote:

Or if his Moon is conj. his Asc./in the 1st house, or happens to be the strongest influence in his chart... IP: Logged |

I do not agree.Women as well as men do show their moon signs. It's the WAY they show it that differs. Men are humans after all, they have emotions, they show emotions in a different way, that's all. I have known so many cappy mooners male in my life and I could write a book on how they show their emotions! If men start showing their emotions like women, we, women would think they are gay!

Men expect their moon sign from women. And, it's how they express their emotional component. IP: Logged |

Mom's ASC (or Moon) tends to trine their offspring's (at least one) Moon or ASC, weirdly enough. Like my mom is a Taurus rising and I have a Taurus moon. IP: Logged |

In a man's chart the Moon represents the wife. Venus represents the woman he's attracted to. Regarding the influence he has over women, for example a man with Virgo Moon would be reserved somehow aloof and not showing his feelings very often if at all. I am a woman with Virgo Moon and I act the same.IP: Logged |

I definitely see where my maternal relationship influenced the development of my Virgo Moon and its aspects. I'm not sure I buy the whole "Moons and Venuses, Suns and Marses, boys and girls" thing though. There is too much gender flexibility in people for that to seem practical. In my own relationships, I find my self taking on a Virgo role as a way of participating. I fuss over the people I have allowed access to my personal space. Today I spent HOURS shopping for the perfect present and stocking-guts for one of my friends (I spend the night on xmas eve and make a stocking for her after she passes out). I then spent several more hours designing the names of my nieces and nephew on stockings. It took a long time because symmetry, detail, and care are my way of expressing how equally perfect they all are to me. It doesn't even matter that they will probably think the stockings were purchased like that. What is important to me is the feeling they get when they see their name arranged beautifully on an insanely large stocking, bursting with all sorts of little goodies. Creating the kind of experience where even the insignificant details are attended to is the way I "mother" those I care for. The Moon may rule parts of a person's psyche that society associates with femininity (like our instincts for nurturing the people we care for), but the prescribed gender associations begin to sort of blur, when one considers how complex and differently wired people are. Moon describes his impression of his mother. Growing up, that's the side that appeals to him when he's looking for a partner in life. If it's Cancer moon, he will seek a nurturing woman. In a way, it also fulfills his moon.Does it influence he has over woman? of course. If you keep pushing that you like to be nurtured, women will bring out that side to satisfy you. But it may not be their true side. They might get sick of it. That's when the relationship falls apart.

Moon is what the man needs from a woman to be emotionally fulffilled. It also shows their emotional nature, how they act when they are emotionally stimulated.IP: Logged |

The "macho" moon signs are quick to show themselves up; especially in women as these are traits that are not "expected" from them.
So yes, a Moon in Aries in a female will stand out more than say a Moon in Pisces. I've also noticed, however, that most men will "suppress" their moon in a feminine signs i.e the Cancer Moon men will appear a lot more "hard" to disguize his sensitive nature.

The Sun DOES relate to Males and vice/versa with the Moon. But personally i think they could be both non-gender bodies, being the two prime cores of the human astral being The Moon is your home so it comes into everything, i have a Capricorn Moon and the last three girls that i've attracted , both Cappys and one Sag.The Moon is the most personal of all the bodies so, it going to come very strongly into attraction, personal influence If a Girl wants to be looked after then it's going to be the Moon, same with if the Guy wants a pride-filled female then the Sun, sort of like Men being Mars that use Venus and Females are Venus that use Mars .. This. Exception makes when Moon is in 1st house or conjunct ASC. IP: Logged |

As a Moon in Gemini, I like guys who are expressive. If a guy is not able to express himself verbally and, no matter how good-looking, I know that the relationship just wont last.

I don't think people showing their moon signs has anything to do with gender. I believe it has to do with the SIGN itself.A Cancer moon might be more reserved when it comes to emotions, "stuck in their shell". I have this placement and nobody would ever guess my moon sign unless I was close to them (which I can be a big cry baby with people I'm comfortable with, heh ) The traits of the sign your moon is in will affect the way you show it in my opinion. Well I've always thought it was like this :The type a guy wants to screw - his Mars sign What he falls in love with - Venus What makes him feel nurtured/mommied - Moon (prolly what would turn him on if he expects his gf to baby him, also) About the Moon conjunct Asc not putting on macho fronts? I dunno. An ex of mine with that placement puts on a macho front all the time; the only time he doesn't is when he's manipulating women to do something for him. Then he suddenly becomes very soft and emotional. He has the sun conjunct Pluto also so he knows his way around the concept of manipulation quite a bit, and with a Pisces moon he can make himself appear to be whatever you want to see. IP: Logged |
