Posed this question on my forum : http://astro-chologist.com/forums/topic/leos-recovering-from-defeat/

Yes I am shamelessly posting a link to my site here.

Anyway. To take that further. There are several other Leo boxers who lost a fight and never recovered ( Jermain Taylor, Paul Williams, Enzo Maccarinelli to name 3). These Leos never were the same after they lost. Other fighters have similar issues after losses but usually recover, or even become better fighters.

Now I think fighting can be used metaphorically here. When Leos lose a fight; whether it be a contest, a debate, suffer an embarrassment of some kind, why does it take such a long time to lick wounds, and get back to being the kings and queens that they are, or see themselves as?

I have three Leo placements, making a net of squares to my Scorpio placements.

Losses do not affect me!!!! I am very shameless and when something embarrasses me, I force myself into accepting it, loving it, and making it a part of me! I do not want something to be able to cripple me. If someone laughs at a mistake I made, I will laugh at it with them! If someone brings up past shame, I will gladly talk it through!

"Hey remember that time you..."
"Yes! Omg it was so horrible! I was such an idiot! And remember when I..."

I won't hide away in shame because I want everything to contribute to ME and MY gains. The truth can't be used against me if I make it into a part of my being. I will admit faults and become better through them. I will rise from my ashes to shine brighter!

Maybe I'm being more Scorpio and less Leo.

That's actually not true.

My sun, mercury and NN are all in Leo and if anything whenever things go bad I just march right on and everybody else seems confused and expects me to throw myself off a tall bridge. Then they compensate by going "oh she's hiding her pain" LOL.

It really depends on what type of loss we're talking here. I agree with those two ^ for most things, but when it comes to relationships/friendships it's harder to lick the wounds and move on so to speak. When it comes to work, competition, etc. I always get back on my feet after sulking for an hour

I have Chiron in Leo sextile sun.. I kinda like Leo for things like this.
I almost never show vulnerability.

If someone really hurts my feelings I'll usually start laughing and making fun of myself instead of balling my eyes out.

Very few people are allowed to see weakness.

J Law is a Leo and kinda does the same thing, she usually makes fun of herself.

I'm the reverse of this. I get shot down by some guy, in my own head I go, "They're like buses, another one will be along in 5 minutes", which is usually true. I also have a Fez-like habit of nursing crushes on at least a handful of guys at any one given time so when one says no I'm not all that broken up, I trot on to the next.

When I get rejected for jobs, that's when I get upset - I've actually cried after not being called back once I finished a job interview. I had to talk my mom down from calling them herself about it because I was bawling so much. I take job reaction as total rejection as a human being because I feel like 'okay if you can't get work, you're worthless'.

This is an interesting question.

I have a leo stellium.

Depending what you mean by defeat. For me defeat is when I am in a competition. To lose in a national competition, for instance is hard. At least for me it is. I participated twice on a national competition, and came in the second position on both counts and yeah it was hard. I remember thinking at that time that I should have taken the 2nd speaker spot ( it was a debate competition).I always win my debates btw. Whatever I choose to do in a COMPETITION, I have to win, losing is not an option. If I lose, yeah it will be hard. Because if I am in the competition in the first place it would mean I am good. If I mess up and someone else wins, I take it hard. If I lose because someone else is better than me,they earn my respect, but that time it didn't happen because the opposing team was better, we lost because the 2nd speaker messed up.

So, as a Leo Sun,Venus,Mercury, and Saturn, I'd say winning is what leos are meant to do, meant to achieve when they enter a competition. They work their butts off, and if they messed up when it matters and lose the prize, yeah they take it hard. Doesn't mean they won't come back again to claim the spot.

Anything else that in a competition, I don't consider defeat. Relationship wise, it doesn't happen to me to be refused. Job wise, I had a tough time once looking for jobs, it was really TOUGH. But now I realised it made me who I am,so nah that wasn't defeat. So any way I look at this, I see defeat only when you lose a competition, you can only be defeated when you are not the winner. In life like dramas ( relationships etc), there is no winning, and losing.

I have sun, north node, mercury and my descendant in Leo. I think Aries is considered the winner sign though because it's the first sign and ruled by Mars? there's some kind of quote I read in Astrology a Cosmic Science - I think Leo is "I will" and Aries is "I am" or something? Traditionally Aries is associated with the leader archetype I think, not Leo so much.

^ I haven't read it anywhere.

It's based purely on my experience. I don't think Aries is the ''winning'' sign. I believe any sign can win. But when a leo gets into a competition, they are there to win otherwise they probably won't bother. It's a question of honour and pride. If they feel they don't have a chance they won't try just for the heck of it. Again talking from my point of view, am sure there must be a leo who will come by and disagree though.

It depends on the placements really. I, myself, have Artemis in Leo (4H). But as much as I hate losing, I'll gladly admit it if someone else is bringing it up. I don't like to give anyone else satisfaction in tormenting me. Aside from that, I never talk about it and remind myself 'what's done is done'.

Libra - Leo - Gemini (asc/sun/moon)

It's very rare for me. It depends what it is.

The most important thing is if I think it was fair. If I feel cheated then I'm going to raise hell, you can bet on that.

EDIT: There was a test at work that I had to pass in order to get to where I'm at now. Not a written test, well that too, but it was a hands-on test. I failed it twice. The third time I just methodically tackled it and dominated. I OWNED that test!!
