One site told me to look at the sign on the cusp of the 2nd house, venus and what sign and house it is placed in, and the houses that have taurus and libra on the cusp (both ruled by venus)
I found that this method was extremely accurate for myself, so I wanted to do a little experiment now that Christmas time is coming up to see if it could be used as a reliable indicator of what kind of gifts people like, so i'd like to hear about everyones 2nd house and venus, as well as the houses where taurus and libra are placed

My placements:

2nd house in aquarius
- I love any sort of new age stuff! Crystals, candles, astrology books, I love to receive any gifts like these. I am also a science and tech nerd so I love to receive any unique things like solar powered stuff or "Science toys" of any kind. I love futurism and neon lights, electronic music, tron, you get the picture

Venus in Gemini, in the 5th house
- I love things with bright vibrant colors. I love new, fresh and hip things. I'm not one to appreciate a timeless classic watch, no matter what the price is, unless theres something multi-functional or bold and interesting about it.
So I love multifunctional, hip and youthful things, I also love anything that allows me to create (5th house) as I am an artist except for the typical paints and pencil type things (I have so many of those!) I love unique new things I can create with or express myself with, things I can make jewelry with, polymer clay, found objects or unique make-your-own kits.

Taurus on the 4th house cusp
- I love things to decorate my home with! but of course they still have to have the fresh and unique hipness and vibrant colors that I love :P. I love unique home decorations like himalayan salt lamps, cool artwork, funky shower curtains.
I also love things to cook with! Things for my kitchen. Think a bright pink or zebra patterned frying pan or a gaiwan tea set.

Libra on the 9th house cusp
- I am definitely into philosophy and higher learning. Although I love fresh and hip things, there are some timeless historical stuff that I would enjoy because they stimulate my higher mind and passion for science. Also, (once again) things like astrology or occult philosophy books, unique foreign cultural items or decorations, etc

Well, those are my placements, I think it gives a verryy good picture of what kind of gifts I like to receive, what kind of gifts do you like?

Taurus rules the IC and the 5th house. Taurus mars in the 4th house.

Hmm I like when I feel that the gift-givers put some thought into the selection. Like my friend knows about my hobby, so she gave me a new steel bench block and a new hammer. Or when one of my co-worker gave me a tiny plant to cheer me up.

Some practical things perhaps. Maybe books... but I'm a bit picky about the books I like to read, so yah if they give me a crime n suspense book, it'd just collect dust on the shelf.

If in a relationship then I would very much appreciate lingerie or other kinky stuff haha, also beautiful dresses. with dark colours made from lace and satin, anything traditionally romantic and deep such as a lavish meal surrounded in a darkish atmosphere and candles. Also i consider good sex and passion a gift, loyalty and intensity also a gift. From friends I like things with a spiritual or deep meaning behind the object, even past on either old or new objects suit me. I like objects that have a story behind them.

I like personal gifts the most. Something made just for me - and i'll keep it forever (if not possible then in my heart!).

Actually it doesn't even have to be material things, do stuff with me, take me out horseback riding, sitting on top of a hill watching a spectaculer view, picnic, the beach, go to the movies, a walk in the woods, bike ride etc.

First and foremost: I much prefer giving gifts to getting. Don't get me wrong. I love receiving gifts, I'm just really good at shopping for others...and for myself, which is the problem I'm horrible at waiting for things that I want so I usually go get them and that leaves people with either really extreme or extremely random choices for gifts.

I like bright, colorful, expensive (I have a Taurus Moon 10H, success is sexy) gifts. Things that people obviously had to work hard for or went to great lengths to acquire. I appreciate the effort put into it almost as much as the gift itself. So even something that might seem unimportant/unimpressive to somebody else may mean the world to me.

My bff knows that I love shoes, so every year for my birthday she buys me a new pair of brightly colored heels. Last year they were neon orange

The same friend and her boyfriend planned a huge party for my birthday one year while I was living with them. I got a video from him while I was at work showing me the 8 different fifths of flavored vodka that had been used to make my 200+ jello shots. It ended with a "Just for you, because we love you. Happy birthday!" They even used multi-colored/flavored jellos to appeal to my need of color. Gosh that was a good birthday

I like books! I love getting books as gifts, especially if it's something I've never heard of, but a genre I like (which is just about anything). It lets me know that people actually KNOW me. I don't really like to let on how intellectual I am to most people so for someone to know that I love to read and know me well enough to pick out a new adventure that I've never been through.. ah something I'll keep and treasure until the pages can no longer be read.

I love books specially fiction and poetry ! they're my fav gifts nothing could please me more.

I also appreciate simple beautiful accessories like bracelets and small earrings, nothing fancy.
