When people think hard 'youth' they think the 4th house.

But my question is: how long does this youth of the 4th house last? Is it 18 years? 25 years? 16 years? 30 years?

Just need answer(s), if not answers then opinions!

hmm I can't give answers but I can give a bit of a opinion. Mars is in my 4th house and "home" environment wasn't peaceful. Things took a turn for the better when I left home at 15 - well, more like was "sent away", it was a part of my doing though (during my solar return - things always happen during my solar returns, heh). I'd say that around 17-18 life was brighter and the "hard youth" period ended.

Thanks for replying!

When I think of the youth of the 4th house I think 18 at the youngest, and 25 at the oldest.

I have Saturn in the 4th. For me, it eased when I was 28, but hard from about 13 years of age - when high school started (roughly transiting Saturn squaring the natal). My Saturn return happened twice at 29 to put in perspective with the easing.

Between 27 and 30 years. But its not as simple as people think. People with rough childhood remain with scars and traumas for the rest of their lives. Just because they leave the parental house that doesn't mean everything is healed. Some people even with their parents DEAD suffer because of them.
Uranus, Saturn and Pluto in 4th house or these planets being the rulers or aspecting this house make people have the first half of their lives hard.
I have an empty 4th house in Aquarius with ruler Uranus in 2nd house and coruler Saturn ( or traditional ruler) in 1st house. Don't get me started it.

Hm... When transit saturn was in my 4th, it was rough. I so have chiron at 0 degree in 4th so yeah, Rosalind is right on about scars of tough childhood. When transit node conjunct my natal node, I got the hell out and did not talk to my family for five months before they can regain their sanity. I'm trying to connect better with them but I don't think my family members are particularly caring. My relationship with my mother has gotten better but I do prefer to live further away
