Since 1st house is your body, we would need to look there. Jupiter in 1st house is dangerous in this house for the body. Its very important to look at the sign of Jupiter because not every Jupiter in 1st would cause problems. I know Jupiter in CANCER (who rules the stomach) and TAURUS (who rules the throat and its a big fan of food) would cause such problems. Venus and Jupiter in 6th house can result but ONLY if these two planets are afflicted. Usually hard planets in 6th house would cause health problems or hard planets aspecting 6th house. Eating disorders are hard to define since they are very complex and every individual would respond differently. It is said that the thyroid is causing eating disorders due stress, hormones etc BUT there are some people who inherit this problem. For genetics we should look at the 4th or 12th house.IP: Logged |

I'm not sure I'm a binge eater, but I'm an emotional eater, that's for sure.Jupiter well aspected but in detriment in Gemini, in the 6th house. Jupiter rules my 12th and my 4th, which are representative of the things that make me eat: secrets, responsability (Saturn in 12th), change (Uranus in 12th), family matters and inaction (Mars retrograde in 4th). Lol I have this and I overeat. Used to have ED's in the past. However ED's are usually related to the Moon, especially in (hard) aspect to Saturn and the outer planets. Food = nurturing = Moon. Venus and Jupiter can expand the desire for food and cause self-indulgence - I've seen Venus in aspect to the Moon play out in unhealthy relations to food. The 6H doesn't have to be part of the picture. Moon, Venus, and the outer planets connected to them can all point to emotional frustration and lead to unhealthy eating habits (as a way to cope / transfer emotional issues onto the body).

Binge eating and EDs is indeed a very complex topic that can vary a lot from individual to individual so the aspects can play out differently from person to person but all the input I have gotten so far is great so thanks. My brother binge eats a lot and he has Moon in Taurus and venus conjunct jupiter but I dont know at what time he was born so I am not sure what his rising sign is or what house his venus/jupiter conjunction fall on. He is also strict with his diet so he stays in shape and slim in spite of his binge eating episodes but everyone in the house has to set clear boundaries with food and this has been an ongoing issue through out his life. He is also very tall which makes me think that maybe he does have jupiter conjunct venus in the first in aquarius. His venus/jupiter in aquarius conjunction SQUARE his moon/mars in Tauraus conjunction. Also his Venus/Jupiter conjunction trines his pluto. I think his sun in cap is why he is discipline enough to NOT let this problem get so out of control that it would lead to health problems or becoming overweight. My husband does not have a serious binge eating problem, I dont see a compulsion like with my brother but he definitely resorts to some serious comfort food when he feels depressed or very stressed ALWAYS and he has Moon in Cancer in the 2nd house (the second rules the throat and cancer the stomach as Rosalind pointed out for me) squaring Sun in the 6th and squaring Saturn in the 5th, He also has PLUTO in the 6th but his pluto only has nice soft aspects EXCEPT for PLUTO in the 6th SQUARE CERES. As a result he has always been a little over weight, he needs his comfort food always in times of stress... is his way of coping with stress.

I did think that the moon played a role, it crossed my mind. When I think the moon and eating problems, I think "emotional eating" but I didn't think that the moon aspecting stressfully to saturn could result in eating problems specifically. Why do you think Saturn? Could it be since saturn has to do with restrictions that a stressful aspect from the moon to saturn could mean that difficulty expressing emotions can result in EDs if there are other placements that are heading this direction like moon in taurus or cancer or moon squaring jupiter?? I am thinking that is why Your input was a tremendous help in helping me understand a lot more how EDs looks like in charts. THANK YOU. IP: Logged |

venus/asc/jupiter in 1st - I used to binge eat a lot more mostly due to the fact that I get distracted and then all of a sudden I'm ravenous. I get caught up in what i'm doing really easily, and easily distracted into other things as well, sometimes i just literally forget to eat.IP: Logged |

I have Jupiter conj Venus in Scorpio in the 10th square Moon in Aquarius in the 1st, I don't go as far as eating uncontrollably but I do eat more than I should quite often, especially ice cream. I've eaten a whole half gallon container in one day on more than one occasion. IP: Logged |

I binge eat and I have Jupiter conjunct the ascendant. What I have always done is not eat anytime during the day then binge eat in the evening.

Amelia, you're welcome. Yes, that's what I had in mind when I mentioned Saturn. Difficulty "feeling" and expressing emotions, which in turn creates internal blockages and a need for compensation - it could lead to a restriction of food consumption (to control emotions) and consequently moments of intense food consumption after periods of self-restriction - that would be especially true if the Moon is connected to Mars or Jupiter (impulse, expansion), Pluto (extremes of behavior) or Uranus (brusque changes in moods and behavior).

Well you really hit the spot with the moon/saturn stressful aspects and EDs. All three people that I know that have issues with food have moon aspects to saturn with a few other markers as well but that was a consistent one in all three people. Namaste and a Happy New Year. IP: Logged |

I have Venus sextile Jupiter and I've always been known to eat a lot. I will say that although this isn't exactly a permanent aspect, I currently have transit Jupiter conjunct my Cancer Ascendant right now at less than a degree. I've been eating and definitely over eating alot lately and I have packed on some pounds . I've always loved food but I don't think it was ever this out of hand until now. IP: Logged |

The majority of people I've known with ED's also have Moon in aspect to Saturn (or Pluto). It's quite saddening, but I think there's a lesson to be learned there. It all comes down to lunar issues (dysfunctional relationship with the family that undermines the person's trust in themselves/others/life and leads to compensating behaviors). Thank you for the New year wish! Have a happy new year, too.

I am EXTREMELY black and white incl eating and drinking and I have an exact opposition (declination) with Jupiter-N and Moon-S and they are trine as well. I will eat and drink ALL or almost nothing. It's the whole donut shop and 3 bottles of wine as opposed to 1 glass of wine and one donut...IP: Logged |

A friend of mine wrote a book about overcoming binge eating disorder. Her Virgo moon is near the midpoint of her Saturn and Pluto. Her natal Jupiter at 29 Gemini was progressed into Cancer at the time she struggled most with this. She also has Chiron in Taurus opposing 1H Scorpio Uranus...I wonder if that's a factor? And NN-Pluto in the 12H. Good news is she has overcome her problems and is working as a therapist/blog author, helping others (Virgo moon conjunct Mercury in the 11H ) IP: Logged |

I'm not sure that I have bing eating or not but I do sure 2 things that you have said.- I have the aspect that mentioned before , cancer moon square libra saturn and jupiter &saturn both conjunct AC. ,my taurus has only chiron . - when I was young , food is my comfort when I 'm stressed , also when I study . I remember everyday with a long exsausted from school/uni back to home, the first thing that make me happy is food that I love , but after I ate I have guilt that I consumed it too much to relieve my stress . I think it should be an issue when you use it not for living but for released your stress , your brain will also think that Food= Reward mechanism and this will make you overweight when you 're out of control. Although when I was young , I used food as my cimfort but luckily that I'm not that overweight because I can manage not to eat a lot in another meal....after the stress has gone But now , My work place has almost no stress . I have a full potential to control it. It's been quite a long time that I've never has this feeling. IP: Logged |

Compulsion is Pluto.Jupiter for excess. I wanna say Moon-Jupiter for emotional binge-eating, especially if one of those planets also aspects Pluto. Saturn for a lack of self-control. .....With Moon-Pluto I think it depends on *what* type of aspect they're making to each other and other planets. I have them conjunct and I've never had an eating disorder. I eat alot but it's a conscious decision, it's not like I have a bad day then can't stop myself from eating three pizzas, and when I want to cut back, I have no problem pushing away from the table at all. I do have other neuroses (plenty), but food and weight was never one of them for me.

Jupiter in 6H opposite ASC, square Venus. I eat without any apparent reason. Sometimes I would be hungry and I won't eat, sometimes depressed and I won't stop eating. My desire for eating is not related to depression though, as I recall times when I'm really depressed but pull the day without eating. But when I eat ... OH SWEET LORD. Thankfully, Saturn is conjunct my ASC, which contributes to my boney body. IP: Logged |
