Is this the most self destructive moon sign to have? It trines Uranus and Neptune, yet my self critical nature for not being perfect is really getting to me. I almost had a mental breakdown because I'm not as good as I want to be, I want to be perfect appearance wise and personality wise but I know it's impossible to achieve but subconsciously I desire it and feel the need to constantly improve flaws, or perceived flaws. I can't help it. Wish I had an Aries moon or something, at least they get things done and don't bother with the nuisances. I'm my own worst enemy, I blame it on my moon sign.

Sometimes we as virgo mooners have to readjust our perception of what perfection is....we have to put some depth and thought into what we are truly accomplishing by beating ourselves up.
Perfection, in the bible was a peaceful place, a place free of judgement, a place that left us content and able to focus on love. That would be true perfection according to a standard set by God.

We are trying to get to a place we will feel free of judgement, we think it requires that we have done such a great job and everything looks so appropriate that we feel like it's perfect so we can feel at peace, we can feel content we can feel we deserve to be loved and appreciated.
But it only us who is judging us to be not worthy of love and appreciation.
If we as virgos are truly striving for perfection why don't we strive for the kind God gave us, he doesn't judge he inspires, he doesn't condemn he lends a hand, he doesn't make a list and expect us to live up to it even ifs it's impossible, we do that to ourselves!
Beating yourself up for not being perfect is stealing your peace and wasting your precious energy on useless stress and anxiety...why?
What purpose does it serve? Is it helping you? Is it helping anyone else or is it actually stealing your positive energy turning it into negative energy and promoting unhappiness?
When you beat yourself up you promote your own worries and self doubt, you don't do anybody any good because your energy is all invested in something that hurts you and everyone around you that sees you, loves you and wishes you weren't so hard on yourself!
Your moving further n further away from Gods version of perfection by expecting the human version of perfection!

I'm saying this in this way because Virgo mooners hearts need logic to get through to us emotionally.
If you want perfection, start loving yourself and realize when God looks at you all he sees is you as the most perfect beautiful reflection of him there is, it's our fears and doubts that make us think we are anything else!

Gabby, thank you for your post.

NeptunianSag, can I see your chart somewhere? I've read a few of your posts and I can relate to you a lot, so I'm curious. Mind creating a thread in Personal Readings or something? *hugs* for feeling the way you do. I know where you're coming from. Just realize that "perfection" is not what you imagine it to be. Work on acceptance and non-resistance instead. Just accept things as they are, it's difficult but much more gratifying.

My dad has moon in virgo and sun in capricorn and is really level headed and optimistic.

So I am wondering do you have in addition to a moon in virgo do you also have other planets in the 6th house or in virgo? or what planet rules your six house and what are its aspects?? Curious to know as I imagine that someone who is that hard on themselves probably has more than one thing contributing to this in the chart.

I feel you though but you are going to overcome this . Lately I have been listing to monk lectures on youtube and it has brought me a lot of peace and is helping me get through the hardships I am undergoing right now and making it a little easier, at least its helping take off the sting. I think you like me would really benefit from buddha dharma.

Namaste

I'm the same way, but I have a capricorn moon. The only way you can cope is by realizing the one thing that makes humans perfect is that they are imperfect. Think about it: if we lived in a world where everyone was flawless, it would be very boring after a while! Those flaws that are eating you up inside may be considered desirable by someone else. It is all about perception.

Focus on what you can control. If you are truly overweight, for example, then work hard to lose weight through a healthy diet and a bit of exercise. Strive to have a healthy and strong body rather than look like a photoshopped model on the cover of Vogue. They key with whatever you do is to set realistic and achievable goals.
