I started thinking this might actually be a "thing" when I saw this

Does that make sense? I've always felt like that growing up (even though I'm still growing up lol) I've learned to accept myself, however - mostly.

Anyone else ever felt like that? Like your personality doesn't match the way you look?

Also, are there any astrological reasons for this (certain aspects/placements, etc)

Have felt this way all my life, on the outside I look like a Martha Stuart type real straight laced goody two shoes all prude and no do...but on the inside I feel very erotic and intense, I have my dark taboo side to me that few people get to see. Its frustrating when people just assume your certain way personality wise because of the way you look. People will tell me "Oh you look so sweet and nice" lol if only they knew!

My Moon in Cancer in 12th hides the real me from people, along with my Mars in Cancer in 12th. Certain planets in 12th can make a personality be submerged.

Neptune conjunct ASC. It clouds the projection given out to others. What others perceive of you is usually not what you feel you are giving to others.

I would also say planets opposite ascendant since people don't see those planets when looking at you.

The other being planets opposite Sun. It conflicts your personality, maybe that's why it causes you to feel unbalanced when you look at yourself.

my libra asc opposites my sun in aries.
its really annoying. people think im more libra like when they dont know me...and then they get to know me and wonder what the hell happened to me bahah. it can certainly get frustrating.

It could be but I'm not sure, thought in terms of personality I do present my self in a different way than who I really am, unless I'm familiar and comfortable enough with someone.

I have Virgo AC, Neptune in Cap and Taurus Mars trine AC, and Aries Sun/Moon/Venus/Mercury/BML which I consider as my inner core. Oh and to complicate things further, Gemini MC.

I tend to act shy and feminine, soft, agreedable and diplomatic, but inside I'm all happy happy ram, or very intense Scorpionic ram (Aries stellium in the 8th house plus Scorp Saturn and Pluto). XP I can also be Gemini like, thought my introversion is my true self.

How I "look" tends to reflect aspects that I choose to display. Lots of people are that way, thus the business suit, the Sunday dress, etc. In my case I think my entire chart combined helps to explain it.

My impression is that it's more likely for others to project assumptions onto an image rather than for "the outside not matching the inside." The assumptions many make about me have been somewhat comedic...especially when they realize the stereotypes of how I look and sound don't apply and they then try to figure me out which has, at times, gotten even more hilarious. And not just me, btw. I'd share an example that has made plenty of people laugh but I'm feeling too lazy at the moment. Maybe later. The point being wasn't that my outside (to include accent among other things) "didn't match" my inside but rather SOME people made snap assumptions on what they thought about how I appeared and sounded. But not everyone did.

I've seen this in one of my cousin's appearance and personality. She's a pisces sun/leo asc and her physical body is just "va va voom" like kim kardashian's body type so you can imagine. You would expect her to be all loud and crazy and a total party animal, and yeah she is, but not as much as you expect her to be. Her soft, dreamy pisces side is a major part in her being.
