What makes someone too rigid and grounded? Like people who are just living in the material world only, who lack empathy, unable to see the bigger picture and believe what they are told. I'm thinking a lack of outer planet aspects, especially Neptune.

Supposedly Saturn is the planet of realism and it is non spiritual. It is grounded in earthly matters. Saturn helps people manipulate the world around them, making them tough so they can deal with tasks and earthly chores.

I have a very Saturn heavy chart but I'm very spiritual. Religious even.

What is Jupiter and Neptune up to in your chart? Jupiter rules religious activity, Neptune rules spirituality in a mystical "all is one" sense. Is Saturn aspecting either? Saturn can play a role in bringing things to an earthly dimension. Traditionally, it is about earthly matters, not spiritual. It would bring Spirit into earthly form, in some sort of image or art. It would make it real and accessible. Tangent.

Being too rigid, lacking empathy, unable to see the bigger picture, dogmatic, etc, are just as likely to affect the mystics and religious as much as those who don't have time for that. Heck, sometimes the concerns of individuals are wholly lost when focused on the "bigger picture." Likewise some people who are not particularly spiritual or religious at all can have very flexible minds and have plenty of empathy, vision, and imagination (Isaac Asimov comes to mind). Therefore your thread title and your original post don't make sense to me, they're completely different questions.

I was going to say what PixieJane said, but she said it better.

Lack of empathy and spirituality are in no way related, IMO

Mercury Trine Jupiter
Mars Quincunx Jupiter

Neptune aspects:
Venus Trine Neptune
Sun Trine Neptune
Uranus Conjunction Neptune
Neptune Sextile Pluto
Neptune Quincunx Ascendant
