1. Progressions are extended transits to call them like that. They are important but not like in the natal chart. Has some effects but temporary ones.
2. I'm afraid I have no answer to this question. Sorry.

Thank you very much for your time. I don't personally have this aspect in my natal, but I have it with my mother (my Uranus in her 12th, her Sun in mine).
It does shed some light on things, though.
Uranus has mostly trines and sextiles in my natal (but is conjunct my IC and square my Mars). Hm.
