How do they interact with one another or is there no interaction? ex. mercury/venus near midheaven in synastry or vesta close but past midheaven

If it's close but past MC, then it's still on the 10th house. It still have the same influence (since MC is the beginning of the 10th house), just not as intense as when sitting right on the MC.

Again, thank you for the encouragement. I do want to learn to read charts properly and find the conflicting aspects confusing. I don't mean to annoy people by my questions or having people reading my chart. Part of it is seeing if I read it right and wanting to know what it shows.
