Saturn in the 1st conjunct ascendant.

Idk I like Saturn here, it's my chart ruler so I'd much prefer it here than in the 12th house.

Restrictive up-bringing.

Saturn in the 7th here... Not attracted to older guys never have been. I get depressed around older people, but I do look for someone who would stick through thick and thin with me. Relationships are no game for this user :P

Saturn in the 10th here. This placement is horribly difficult with a lot of disappointments and setbacks. I'm often given too much responsibility to the point where I feel overwhelmed and alone.

quote:
Those with Saturn in the 10th house often feel that they must achieve something in the world, and through this challenge are dealt with frustrations dealing with anxiety and fear around their craving to amount to something. The individual is very sensitive and aware of their status and position, and determined to make whatever career goals they have into a reality. However, as Saturn is the planet of time, limitation and delay there is usually a struggle.

Saturn here is challenged by authority figures and it is as if karma or destiny hands them more responsibility without any help or support. They have to wait longer for that promotion. They may feel as if they are always having to be put to the test. These people often pile on the extra work for themselves to show others that they are successful at managing and earning respect. Saturn is placed in its own house and it is believed there is more of a drive than any other placement of this planet to make their mark on society.

The position can be projected onto to others and they can live all this ambition and need to be successful through someone close. Saturn here may bring a downfall, humiliation in the face of others, and often too much responsibility falling into their hands. Roles that they are handed are always taken seriously, and sometimes they shy away from it all because the fear of not succeeding is too great. It is as if they are proving to others that they are capable of handling a role of responsibility, but sometimes their over-achieving hides a deep sense of vulnerability to others criticism, a feeling of inadequacy and a fear of failing.

The individual may take great care in controlling everything around them to ensure that they never put a foot wrong. The roles they face involve nothing but hard work and they are only human and everybody makes a mistake, but it is only by learning from our failures that we know the right way to do something. Astrologer Liz Greene suggests that it is through the family line where those with Saturn in the 10th house have felt rejection and isolation. Stemming from this is a deep need to prove themselves to others, rather than a need to make it on their own terms.

The 10th house rules the most public of places, and it is here where these people need to overcome a fear of failure, and be willing to assume responsibility. The measure of achievement should not always be dependent on how well they are doing in the eyes of the public. Saturn in the 10th is usually successful, the drive, ambition and need to rise to prominence is all there. In the beginning there may have been a stronger drive to prove themselves to the outside world. The person needs to structure, shape, and define themselves in a material sense. Through gaining psychological insights into their motives for authority, high aspirations, and goals, they can truly begin building, and preparing their sense of influence and power on society at large.

Saturn in the 11th House – the social pariah

- Loneliness
- Not fitting in and even feeling shunned by groups
- Desire for deep friendship but no one seems to be good enough
- Possible disdain and resentment for society and group thinking

To me personally the most prominent feature of 11th House Saturn is being ignored and feeling awkward and insecure in groups of people (especially those who are not very close). There’s always this feeling of “there’s no place to you here”.

-I'm insecure in group settings. I'm on the outside looking in
-i have no real friends
-More often than not I'm scorned by society for one reason or another and I tend to scorn others as well, I'll admit.
-It's easy for me to be a hermit
-I find that I don't really care for the trivialities of life like celebrity gossip, small talk, what kinds of clothes people wear, a so on.

I think every planet in the 12th House is the hardest.

Saturn in the 5th seems hard to me because creativity has always been an outlet for me and I would feel very badly if that area had saturn's restrictions on it.

That is a personal POV, I think.

I have it in the 2nd and never suffered material deprivation, so am not sure about it here.

Great thread, LA!

I just had a thought, being able to earn my own money is the way I am getting my self esteem back. Maybe, Saturn shows that. What do you think?

I feel like I may be onto something and am gonna start a new thread!

My Saturn is 14' (< 1 degree) from 11th house cusp on the 10th house side.

I guess it's both?

Hi floormopper,

I have saturn in the 8th too. I noticed from the things you've said that we have a lot of similar placements (venus neptune) etc. And we are both going thru a cat/housing issue Care to post your chart? How is ur cat btw?

For me it manifests mainly as feeling like there's always walls between me and other people. I feel like I'm always trying to connect and feel some sense of emotional intimacy with people but something is always happening to prevent that, or they hold back and keep me at arm's length, that kinda thing. I always feel like I'm behind a wall of plexiglass or something.

I will say also that the traditional intepretation of it as being s.crewed out of inheritances is spot-on. There's an inheritance we should've received through our maternal line that we never got because distant family members on that side squirreled it all away for themselves. Long story.....

I have leo saturn in 11H in Natal and pchart (also conjunct sun) and I LOVE meeting new people!! I have many superficial friends around the world that I see and talk to and a handful of very close ones. I let few in and I am most content keeping things superficial but at the same time I like to talk about deep things with these superficial contacts. Is that an oxymoron??

It is very easy for me to strike up conversations.

Did you create the thread already? I'll be sure to look!

I definitely prefer to be my OWN BOSS - absolutely. That isn't the case right now, but I'm striving for that! I also prefer flexible schedules & doing my own thing.

I'm glad your money & mind are now aligned Ami.

Thanks Ami!

And my family has fallen on hard times before, sure. But generally, I didn't feel deprived either.

From the looks of it...seems that Saturn in 11th & 12th Houses are pretty rough.

I always thought saturn 12th would be the easiest. Saturn in the 3rd to me, has been a real pain in the a**.

-prone to depression.
-lack of conversation skills.
-personally I haven't been able to finish a college degree. Education has been a long and difficult road.
-afraid of public speach.
-can't find small talk that amusing.

It is conjunct the cusp of the eleventh house. How does it affect your eleventh house activities? Do you find that you don't really like eleventh house matters or trouble through them? Does it feel like a burden or a chore? Do you take on responsibilities of some kind related to the eleventh house?
Groups of people have always played a serious role in your life? I have Saturn conjunct the cusp of the eighth and it tends to restrict that house. You might be the type who takes other people very seriously and you feel disappointed at times.

Saturn in 10th here
I think life forces me to prove myself, I then react and try to pile more responsibilities on my plate

You have Saturn posited in the Second, but it actually is Conjunct the Cusp of the Third, which is the Doorway, and the most sensitive part of a House. The most intense focus is at the mouth, then it tapers off from there; not unlike the pinwheel focus of the Angles, tapering off to Succedent and Cadency...

1st and 4th are really personal houses.
Saturn prospers in social houses.

saturn rules 10/11th which is pretty much government and society
and gets directional in the house partnerships.
