I wanted to start a topic about parental love and bad astrological aspects in synastry or composite then I thought why not discuss any relationships that you had or are currently having that have transcended bad synastry aspects or that have transcended afflicted planets in your natal chart.

Where astrology has predicted negative things and you have proven to 'beat them' at their own games?

Tell me about them.

Do you think a mother's love for her child (or a father's love) can transcend negative synastry aspects?

Why do people try to bring everything back to parents? Freud was a moron.

That aside no synasty is all bad or all good so yeah it's absolutely possible that the good aspects between a parent and child will trump the bad.

Well everything does come back to our parents.

That's me, not Freud talking.

You can be exactly how parents were to you or you could turn out to be exactly the opposite either way they influence you.

However, this thread is not exclusively about parental love.

Hmm, I think the relationship between my mother and I is a bit like that. It takes work and good aspects lol I have some moon squares and moon trine Jupiter (which I think is a lovely saving grace). Synastry with my mother has some stressful aspects: mars squares, mercury squares, pluto squares. But we also have moon conjunct moon - we're very similar in many ways.

Our relationship was quite bad. Over the time, as she grows older and after I've made it clear that I wasn't going anywhere, it started to improve. We still have our spat every now and then, but I've no doubt that it will continue to improve.

Thanks Muddy.

So Jupiter is the little guy that comes to the rescue,I'm not surprised

May I ask you if your mum has a prominent Jupiter in her natal? or may be it aspects her moon/venus or her asc? or her 4th/5th house?

Not really it doesn't. People can only b*tch and whine about how everything is supposedly their parents fault for so long. After awhile you're in control of your own brain, mind and choices.

Whether it's you or Freud saying it, I still don't agree.

and parents aside one of the first tenets you learn in astrology is that of free will. pretty much you can transcend anything in your chart if you feel that's what you wanna do.

Her 12th hous aqua Jupiter semi-sextiles her venus n conjunct her mercury/mars, oppose her uranus

I noticed the first signs of changes in our relationship in 2011, when Pisces Jupiter conjunct Uranus were travelling through her 1st house and both conjunct her venus near exact. Yah, I think you're onto s.t with here

I like this idea...like 12muddy pointed out, it seems to have a lot to do with transits, loosening tension here or applying tension there. I'm not sure if I've ever experienced anything like a lasting rebirth of a relationship, based on my or their "mastering" the problems indicated in the charts. Usually it's like, we were classmates, neighbors, or siblings and worked out our differences over the long haul.

However, my father's Mars in Libra was square my sun, and he was very kind and rarely bothered me. Contrary to the readings for Mars square sun synastry. He was much older than me (48 when I was born) and I do think that time and hardship gentled him overall.

Well, The Mothers love would come from her Positive aspects? Sun, Moon, Venus ..

Positive always wins over negative.

Just curious Faith, do you have sun/saturn in your natal?

Jess, I was *just* thinking about this exact same thing yesterday... wow. I agree with you 100%.

Personally... I don't think I've had any relationships where the synastry/composite charts were 'transcended', so far they've always played out the way the aspects suggest.

The "feeling" may be there, if we're talking about "feeling love" towards someone, yes, but the relationship itself is either dysfunctional or non-existent altogether (I'm talking specifically about child/parent relationships).

I'd love to hear some positive experiences though. I'm sure it's possible to transcend one's natal chart and synastry/composite charts, but it probably takes some solid strength/maturity to reach that level.

yeah

I have sun/saturn conjunction in mutual reception in Leo too.

@ Doux,

Me too, I would like to hear examples where the good aspects trumped the bad ones in synastry or composite. The idea behind this thread was to analyze the 'echoes' ( I call them) of a natal chart that come on the surface and trumps out all the bad aspects.

Did you know that 'echo' in Greek mythology was a nymph? Her love for Narcissus wasn't reciprocated, so one could only hear her voice calling out to Narcissus.
