Not sure how to title this. but what shows someone who tries to appear trendy vs someone who isn't. Is it Venus? Most people are really surprised by my major because it's full of ex engineering students who wear glasses and have bad haircuts. That is a stereotype of course. Not all of them are like that.. I've had professors assume my major is fashion or merchandising.. I remember a professor pointed out some girls vintage dress and asked me if I knew about this famous designer designer from like 60's.. I had no idea and he was like you should know this print because your fashion student! lol.. So I'm wondering what signs/aspects don't care about their appearance. I've been studying some of my classmates charts and I noticed none of them have Sun conjunct Venus.

Sun conjunct Venus is not the only thing that would make aesthetics. Any Libran placements I think, maybe Venus in 1st or 10th, probably Taurus too or MPs involving Venus somehow and Venus ruling an axis - AC or MC and a venereal progression. Engineers are by nature functional people. There were oddly a lot of Cancers in it that I knew as well as a few Aries. Isn't it associated with Saturn? Saturn is not exactly unstylish either though - classy. And it's nice to hear that engies around the world are unfashionable. In my time, they all had level sets in their backpacks, flannie shirts and bowl cuts with white sneakers and all listened to pub rock - like a strict uniform across the board, but they were a lot of fun as people . Edit - trends, gimmicks and crazes is Uranian. IP: Logged |

I think Venus and its position might be a part of it... I'm very trendy, fashionable and into aesthetics as well, I have Venus in Libra as a singleton. It's tightly square Uranus and Neptune. But I have Leo Asc as a singleton too and I love wearing jewellry and things with a subtle shimmer in them, but nothing too flashy or shiny though; that's probably my Virgo Sun muting some of my Leo-ness lol. I agree any Libra or Gemini influence. Gemini likes to look cool. I use my libra in venus planets for doing trendy/ fashionable things and for very logical things like Scorpio Sun, Saturn and Virgo Mars. Trendy - Libra and Taurus. I have Venus in Libra and I must say I like branded clothes, handbags, accessories, beautiful aromas/oils,cosmetics, beauty, make up, shiny stuff but not just bling. I can easily spend hours on sites like www.polyvore.com I have taken an offence when somebody has said that person is so glamorous (who wasn't me)and not said anything about me and it made me wonder momentarily. I have been told these days more that I am glamorous recently due to type of work I do i.e. Media, Entertainment and Fashion. I wouldn't say I always dress trendy but my sense of style has been better in years and I would like to look amazing on certain important events. I have too many Sag planets who like to be scrufy on days or not paying too much attention.I wouldn't be surprised if there was lot of Sag in your class too or they just do not think it is necessary for them to look good. I think some people dress according to occasion as well like for office parties would be so Cap and Virgo like. I wouldn't be able to do some Hollywood or LA kind of woman who try to look immaculate everyday would be impossible. IP: Logged |

I'm very trendy and very into fashion..but more classic, not cutting edge or controversial. I have Taurus sun singleton with a lot of Gemini and progressed Leo ASC. I also have venus trine Pluto and pvenus conjunct ASC. I would say a lot of Leo, Taurus .... IP: Logged |

I'm going to go the opposite direction and say Cappy, Taurus, Virgo, and Cancer.Signs that are considered traditional, conformist, status-conscious. Whatever the accepted "norm" is - this extends to trends, they will jump right on it, and then when something else is considered acceptable they will quickly drop the last thing. I'm going to go so far as to say Uranus is actually NOT trendy cuz Uranus is the weirdo that's strutting down the street in clothes everybody else wouldn't be caught dead in. IP: Logged |

Venus Virgo prefers personal comfort, and refuses to sacrifice that to the superficial god of trend.IP: Logged |

From personal experience, I am going to have to vote for Aries, Uranus, Gemini. Sometimes Leo and Sag placements, depending on aspects I suppose.I think it also depends on a person's definition of "trendy" or "ahead of the curve". IP: Logged |

Kero, you have a Gemini stellium with an Aries Mars. That should do it. If nothing else, I find that Geminis like to be ahead of things at least intellectually, and I think that extends itself to a certain degree of fashion. Oddly, I do not find that my Aqua friends are particularly fashionable or "trendy". I do find that other Aqua placements can do that, though. As for Libra (barring any of the above mentioned aspects/placements/prominent planets), they often seem more concerned about things that I think are outdated, like wearing white before or after a certain holiday, or whether their shoes are the same color as their belt, etc. Not ALL Libras, mind you. I would say likewise for Capricorn and to a lesser degree Virgo. Taurus seems to be fairly adept at choosing a nice, earthy style that is their own. Ps I don't mean to offend anyone, so if you don't fit the descriptions I've haphazardly thrown out there, please don't take offense. We all have our own personal concepts of style, and place different values on those concepts. I'm okay with that. IP: Logged |

@Kerosene I just want to answer to my closed(!?!? I dont know why. It's no different when someone post a picture and ask what is this person ASC) thread. You were absolutly right. I was shocked how good was your anwser And reply to your thread. From my observation people with Gemini and Aries placement are trendy. They are not afraid especially Venus in thoses signs. Men with Aries Venus are liking to look good. Libra after all can go both ways. Virgo and Capricorn(maybe not Cap Venus:P) know what is elegant, what is classy. Men with Venus in water signs can have sloppy style. IP: Logged |
