Mars is the planet of war. So doesn't the squares/opposition in synastry make some war?
The opposition is said to make more of a ping-pong effect - but still open warfare between two people?

Do you see mars aspects as a constructive war, that leads to agreement? Or do you see it as something violent, destructive and impossible to have in a good synastry?

I've experienced the sun-square mars with a lot of people, not lovers. There always seem to be a harsh tone between us, and it's like we are just out of sync. We just doesn't wan't to do the same things at the same time.

With the moon opposition mars I've experienced that arguments can blow up so fast that no one is able to stop it no matter what. And afterwards there is only a little chance that the relationship can be healed, cause of the harsh words that was said.

With mars square uranus and pluto I've experienced some of the worst things with people. It seems like these people just want's to completely destroy me if we have an argument.

I think mars can be really tricky this way. It's not fun, it's something else than harsh pluto aspect, cause Mars is just a war that you cannot win, where pluto is at least transforming you into something better afterwards.
What is your thoughts on this? Am I right or did I get it completely wrong?

I don't think you're off-base. I used to be the type that believed you could have bad Mars in synastry and make it work or bypass it or work through it or whatever - NO. Especially if it's Mars-Sun and Mars-Pluto like you said, because then it's just one long repeating loop of the two people involved trying to psychologically-kill each other. Seriously. Them trying to destroy you, you trying to destroy them in return.

There's just no place for Mars squares in a healthy interaction between two people unless it's only one or two aspects, the orbs are HUGE, and the rest of the synastry is hyper lovey-dovey to counteract it.

It really depends on what your individual chart needs. Everyone handles the energies differently.

I have Pluto-mars square with someone. (I'm Pluto) Lots of Pluto conjunctions and Asc conjunctions!
So far so good! Moons are very compatible, sun signs. Lots of trines. Also, our communication is stellar so far and our way of tackling issues is to approach it logically and fairly. Not that issues won't arise. We'll see but I don't think it has to be an end-all type of aspect or to cause much disturbance.

It's really hard to avoid some sort of difficulty within a relationship when you have Mars tensions going on in your Synastry...

Me and my brother have a perfect Mars opposition in our Synastry... His Mars also squares my Pluto... You know that stereotype about siblings always fighting, despite the unconditional love between them? We fit that description perfectly... Seriously though, things can go pretty ugly between us. It has always been this way, since I was very little. It's really horrible when it does and I've been trying to have some self-control over this, but he, on the other hand, has a more difficult time doing so... It's a tough thing to have in a Synastry, but there are definitely ways to go around it

I agree with this, particularly because I have experienced mars squares in synastry that proved to be beneficial, but it all depends on the individuals in context.
For example, I have mars square mercury DW with a gemini, while with some people the harsh combativeness puts them on edge, I found that he rather enjoys the verbal sparring that comes about between us. We find it to be exciting as we challenge eachother's ideas with war-like ardor which takes our productivity to greater heights.

Of course there are other harmonious aspects to which this square adds kind of a spice to rather than ruining the whole dish, I can imagine if there were too many dissonant aspects with not enough harmonious ones to lessen the blow it can become very difficult. The context of the natal charts should also be taken into account, as for example I have mars making quintiles to mercury, moon, and the north node in my natal chart, which contributes to my enjoying competitive exchange with others, so long as it is a fun playful competitiveness rather than one where someone is clearly trying to damage the other person in an attempt to be the victor.

I had my Mars in Cap square his Mars in Aries...

To say that this got 'bad' would be a huge understatement.

But his Mars is also square Saturn in natal (which is on my own Mars)... and both of our generational Neptunes in Cap are thrown into the mix.

I took the first exit and I really think I averted a huge drama.

:edit: I also had Sun square Mars and Mars/Pluto aspects in other synastries - but nothing came close to how aggressive Mars square Mars was ... Just *yikes*.
In a sense we both also had the best intentions and we still couldn't stand each other ultimately.. which is even weirder.

However, things can work with any aspect. While I was looking up our synastry ages ago - I found that Brangelina likewise have an exact Mars square Mars in the same signs (Aries/Cap). It depends on the individual natal aspects to Mars and the maturity of the people involved.

His MARS conjunct my PLUTO (exact) opposite his MOON.

Were we not such polite, eloquent people, I can imagine things could be very ugly.

Good point. Do you know some natal aspect that could indicate a person who likes verbal battles?

Mercury conjunct mars. My mother has this in her natal. She is literally the most argumentative person I have ever met in 44 years on this planet (this go-around). She MUST disagree with everyone and make it a huge point to do so and challenge the person. But she also has sun conjunct mercury, so I don't know, maybe that amps it up.

I once had a crush on a guy who had this aspect too. He really enjoyed getting into an argumentative mode and if you got on his bad side... He could be quite verbally mean, actually. He collected enemies all around, lol. But he was actually a good person, just misunderstood. He liked to provoke people too, in a playful manner.

I have mars in Sagittarius square his mars in Virgo at 1 degree with my boyfriend.

We also have mars-saturn DW (square and opposition)

mars-pluto DW (conjunction and square.)

Mars-jupiter DW. (sextiles)

My mars conjuncts his ASC.

His mars is in my 4th.

Sun-mars quincunx at 1 degree. (I am mars)

Moon-mars square. (I am mars)

In our composite we have mars-uranus, mars-neptune squares. mars-jupiter conjunction. Mars and Jupiter in the 8th, Uranus/ Neptune in the 11th. Mars trine ASC.

We argue, but I believe our Sun-Venus DW and mars-Jupiter DW really helps smooth things over. Our fights get pretty intense, but nowhere near as bad as the exact mercury-mars conjunction I had in my first serious relationship. I will say we do tend to provoke each other or say things just to get a reaction, but to doesn't get outrageous.

It depends on an individual's tolerance level.

All of my horribly destructive relationships involved Pluto and Saturn to Sun. Rarely mars is the culprit unless it's my own.

Mars-mars is definitely frustrating. We grind each other's gears sometimes, but make up just as quickly.

He's a Cancer Sun, Virgo Moon.
I am a Scorpio Sun, Libra Moon.
