Anyone with 12th house planets or transits feel isolated in daily life? Does it bother you or have you embraced it?

Jupiter has been back and forth in my 12th house and I started feeling pretty isolated for various reasons when this transit started about a year ago, which at first really bothered me since I enjoy having at least somewhat of a social life, and friendships are important to me... But now I'm starting to see the positive side of this transit and actually sort of appreciate it. I know I wouldn't be happy if things continued this way forever, but for now it's sort of a nice break. I also used to have bad insomnia and think I just didn't need much sleep, but for the first time in a lonnnng time I can fall asleep easily and feel like I could probably sleep for days. Which probably just means I'm kind of depressed right now lol but again I actually sort of appreciate it for the time being...

Anyway I've become much more intrigued with the 12th house since this transit started, so just curious to hear opinions

With three natal planets there and I prefer it. Of course not TOTAL isolation but I like to keep to myself.
The ONLY exception is a S.O. I can be with them 24/7.

^^Interesting.. And yeah I've been feeling the same way about keeping to myself. What planets do you have in the 12th?

I have Venus/Mars/Mercury.

My "big three" are all social signs and so sometimes I will go socialize and I am capable. But 2-3 hours and I'm ready to just go back home to be alone. lol

hmm I don't feel isolated. Sometimes I choose to get away for a bit though.

I have 5 planets in the 12th house. Transit pluto, sun and venus are in the 12th now.

I'm this way...moon and venus in 12th...sun 4 degrees from 12th cusp. I have come to learn that although I enjoy socializing a lot, I have no problem with, almost need to retreat afterwards and spend a good amount if time alone...it re-charges me.

Good point. I don't feel like it's involuntary.

I have realized that I swing between my natal and progressed chart. With the 11H stellium in natal I LOVE LOVE LOVE being the center of attention within "my group". That group can be dinner parties, bars, clubs, whatever.

In my progressed chart I have a Virgo stellium in 12H and that side of me will ONLY roam around town, alone, while occasionally jump into random cafes where I can get a feel for the ambiance and auras of different people before heading home to my aloneness. I also have Leo sun conjunct Saturn in pchart.

Both personas make me happy but I am curious if I will see much change soon because all my angles change signs to Cardinal and Mars will be conjunct Pluto and Asc in Libra and I will also have a Virgo Sun..

I have SN in the 12H, opposing a strong cluster of objects and I love isolation. I generally feel swamped with other people's energy when I am in a crowd, so when I am social, I tend to stick to one on one or very small groups.

Being alone is like returning to a cozy cave. All the parts of my social personality (which take great pains to execute lol) sort of fall away. I don;t have to wrack my brain for words to describe my thoughts (Mercury Cap), I don't have to worry about the appropriate level of affection (Venus in Scorpio), I don't have to worry about being aware of another person's intricacies (Moon Virgo), I don't have to worry about reigning in my expressions so others can find me acceptable (Sun Sag). I can just relax and be me, because there is nobody to offend or explain myself to.

Un-freaking-fortunately my NN and Pluto are opposing in the 6H, so being isolated is not particularly productive for applying and exercising my personality and certainly not helpful to my essential obsession of being something shiny, social, and service-oriented when I grow up.

bummer =)

Same here with my SN in 12. I feel most comfortable being a loner and dealing with people, yeah, I can do it but I'd much rather be aloof and it's easier to deal with life as a loner. I can have everything my way bwahahaha.

For me when this transit started it definitely felt involuntary at first (or at least like I was making the decision to isolate myself without fully understanding why), although Saturn was also squaring my Venus and Jupiter at the time so the world felt like a cold place in general..

@12muddy, Pluto transiting your 12th sounds interesting, what degree is your Asc?

@Charlie, I can relate to switching back and forth. I have natal Sun conjunct Saturn and as you said I can sometimes just observe as a lone wolf, but then again my Sag moon in 5th house craves socializing, attention, fun times, etc. so it's conflicting

@Xirro, that's a great way of describing it, I'm starting to see alone time as like returning to a cozy cave too.. Which is actually really nice since I think as a 7th house Sun I tend to always look to others for re-assurance or as a distraction, but now there isn't really that fear of being on my own with no one else to mirror my thoughts off of... But the down side is that it is tempting to just float along in the 12th house dream world and stay disconnected from things I should be focusing on out there in reality lol

My ascendant is at 22'19 Capricorn.

Hehe it seems as if pluto's been in my 12th house forever lol it's now conjunct my sun/venus/Uranus/Neptune n square my moon. I guess it does relate to the events that happened in my life recently.

As for isolation, sometimes I actively detach myself to regroup n refocus. Other than that I like interacting with other people and like crowded, noisy n sparkly places.

^Nice your Asc is conjunct my Sun at 21.12 Cap lol

But yeah I think sometimes it's harder to notice the effects of the slower moving planets since they're more of a gradual or long term process, but maybe you'll start feeling it more once pluto crosses into your 1st house...?

Yes now that you say it, I think it's true. The effects of those events certainly gave me new perspectives on certain matters. When it moves to my 1st house and other people will probably "see" the effects of those "changes" in my behaviour/personalities.

I've always needed my alone time, I need it to recoup! Being social takes it out if me and I can only regenerate when I'm alone.
12th house unaspected virgo moon, trines my Taurus South Node in 8th....sometimes I wonder what affect it has to have your moons closest and only aspect being to your nodes, esp a trine to the SN(past life) in 8th.
Maybe it gives a subconscious connection to past lives through your emotions? But I'm not sure, I do have a get feelings or sense past lives, when I get around certain people, I get feelings about things, if I've known them and what we've been through together. It gives understanding to why certain relationships are the way they are or aren't....but that within itself wears me out and is one of the major contributing factors to why I want to run and hide from everyone at times!

I wonder if this is voluntary psychological isolation. I have pluto transiting my 12th house now and when it just began I blew through all these long standing problems in my home life - stuff that has been going on for a very long time and stuff that was very unhealthy. I couldn't put up with it any longer. But during this process I saw people in my family in a new light and saw them for who they really are and I choose to not be around them or anything they represent if I can at all avoid it. I am emotionally and psychologically starting to venture out on my own after being held down psychologically for my whole life by my family. I am also doing a lot of searching for what I really want in my life (job, friends, home) and I haven't settled on anything just yet so perhaps that will be part of this transit - all the psychological sorting of things. I hope this transit is less volatile than pluto through my 11th which was really horrible. So far I feel stronger in this transit but it just started so maybe I just don't know much about it yet.

Can anyone provide info regarding if the pluto through 12th house transit is better or worse than the 11th house transit?

I have natal Pluto in twelve. Do you feel fated, like you cannot control a situation? That's Pluto in twelve making his presence known.

Some events were out of my control, some were just so built up that I exploded. Someone else described pluto as a volcano and for me the pressure ruptured once it went into my 12th which was only Jan. 2013. The changes that have been made so far were very long standing problems in my life that were beginning to boil. And they were addressed right at the beginning of this transit! I am now left with a lot of unanswered questions - almost as if I have to fill in empty spaces in my life from friends who vacated during pluto 11 transit to job that ended start of pluto 12 and now emotional space that my family of origin took up after I realized they were just not healthy to have in my life start of pluto 12. I feel I have a lot of work ahead of me.

I know what you are talking about! Pluto will clear things out. It's like, you realize you don't really want what is in your life because it't too negative. You feel like you are surrounded by back stabbers. Pluto gives your the will to make a clean break from anything negative and destructive in your life but it's very difficult because humans are programmed to hold on to everything around them.
